Stock trading is like gambling. With the current environment so unpredictable, you'll have to expect some loses. Although, the Philippine economy is growing due to the influx of raw material demands from Japan. Expecting 5% growth by the end of this year. Choose your investment well. Research and understand the company you're investing in. And always keep an eye on the news and always be attentive of talks, hearsay, and the public's perception of that company.

Real estate is much safer. But needs a lot of capital and, of course, time. Also be careful about buying lots that are only tax declared. The government has the right to revoke that and claim that its government land. Aside from that, you need to check also if there are outstanding mortgages, ownership, and kins from the buyer. Also, always do your research on owner's history, soil analysis (is the soil stable and wont erode over time?), water source (watersheds are being privatized, cementing cause water supplies to go another direction), future government plans (is there any road widening plans? if your lot is in the way, the government will only pay the estimated value and not the market value), future investments (are there any commercial ventures going on? Cityhood being given?).

Real Estate = less Risk, long term investment, tangible, solid and it leaves a legacy...lol

medyo daku ug puhunan ang real estate and taas ka ug learning curve. sa stock market is gamay ra ang puhunan and pwede ka mag start thru mutual fund then equity fund...

go for real estate if you have the cash... but always diversify... some in cash, stocks, more secure investments, businesses, etc.
