GudDay mga bro... i hve problem with my PC.

gi.reformat nako akong pc kay windows 98 raman ang gadagan ani b4 dn i plan 2 upgrade to windows XP.

im runing asus P4XP-X Motherboard
Intel P4 2.4 Ghz.
256 MB DDR PC2700
300W psu

when i tried to upgrade to windows XP dli man mo.continue ang installation. kutob ra xa sa katong mo AGREE gani ka sa terms and condition katong mo.press kag F8... dn after pressing F8 kay mo.reboot man ang PC. i tried other installer same raman gihapon. bt kung windows 98 akong i.install kay ok man xa. unsay problem ani mga bro? pls help.

i tried to upgrade the bios kay 1004 mani akong bios dn ang latest kay 1005 bt incompatible man ang gi.release sa ASUS sa akong motherboard so i cant upgrade my bios nah.

have you tried a clean installation of windows xp, not the upgrade?

i tried both.. fresh installation and upgrade installation from windows 98...

FRESH Installation:

kutob ra xa sa katong terms and agreement dn after pressing F8 mo reboot xa.

UPGRADE Installation from windows 98:

after sa PREPARING INSTALLATION WINDOWS (dba stage by stage mana ang installation)
inig shift nya sa next stage w/c is INSTALLING WINDOWS kay mo.reboot xa. dn inig reboot kay naay choices f i.cancel ang installation or continue... if i.click ang continue installing windows kay mo.hang.up xa dapit sa preparing to install nga status bar.. dn wla na... freeze na xa...

how many RAMs do you have? if more than 1, try 1 memory on each slot, whichever works. also, if you have an another known-good hard drive (something new), try that one as well.

i only have 1 memory. one hard drive.. but ds hard drive is from my other PC runing windows XP so as my memory...

bro, memory ug hard drive ra ang possible na prob ani? base sa akong prob?

i see. possible sad na dili supported ang memory since this was taken from a different computer (newer, i presume). check the motherboard specifications, compare mobo specs with memory specs if they match or supported by mobo.

if supported gani ang memory try moving it to a different slot. do the same for your hard drive if your mobo has more than 1 ide controller.

also, try another media (winxp cd), basin naa scratches or corrupted data ba ron. you'll never know. windows 98 and windows xp are 2 different operating systems, parts may work on the older os and not work on the other - kung mao ni ang basis, condition ra jud sa cd akong mahunahunaan.

i tried moving from other slots ang memory bt wen 8 boot ni blue man nuon ang monitor.. katong HARDWARE TROUBLE... ang error kay

do u think my memory has problem? or dli lang jud xa compatible? pero f ibalik nako xa sa previous slot kay dli man xa mo.blue pero mao lagi to iya prob dli mo continue ang installation.

we've narrowed down the problem to 2 components, motherboard or memory...naa ka lain memory ma test? kung mo work ang lain nga memory, it means ang memory nga naa diha ron mao ang prob. kung dili gihapon...ang memory slot sa motherboard...na gets nimo ang logic?
