Default How do you obtain Salvation?

According to the Bible, Jesus is author of Salvation

In Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV it says,
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

In John 3:16 NIV it says,
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

    John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

    Hebrews 2:10
In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Salvation is a gift of God through Jesus Christ, and there's no way we can earn it, not even our good works, it's freely given to those who believe (believing what Jesus Christ has done on the cross, and allowing Jesus to be the personal LORD of our life).

There's no other way in which you can attain salvation not in our good works, not in our talents, skills ability, not in religion and worst not in images carved by men. In John 14:6, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the father, but except through him.

...post lang ko what Matt Slick wrote in his website...

    How does someone become saved?

Jesus is the most important figure in all of human history. He is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9), physically risen from the dead, Lord (Luke 24:34; John 2:19-21) and Savior (Acts 5:30-32). He came to die for sinners (Rom. 5:8 ) to remove the separation between God and sinners and to remove the wrath of God upon us.

I ask you, are you a sinner? Have you ever lied, stolen, lusted, coveted, or been angry with someone unjustly? Have you ever offended God in any way? If so, then you have sinned. Your sin is against God because you have broken His law. Also, because He is infinite, your offense to Him is infinite. You are not capable of appeasing an infinite God because you are a sinner. Nothing you can do can undo the damage caused by your sins.

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). That means that your sins have caused a separation between you and God (Isaiah 59:2) and the result is death (Rom. 6:23) and wrath (Eph. 2:3). The only way out, is to be saved by faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:1). You must trust in what Jesus did on the cross to forgive you of your sins and not trust anything else, not even your own sincerity or works.

Jesus is the one who died for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2). He is the only way to the God the Father (John 14;6). He alone reveals God (Matt. 11:27). He has all authority in heaven and earth (Matt. 28:18 ). It is only through Him that you can be saved from God's wrath (Eph. 2:3). He can forgive you of your sin (Luke 5:20; Matt. 9:2). He can remove the guilt that is upon your soul. Jesus can set you free from the bondage of sin that blinds your eyes, weakens your soul, and brings you to despair. He can do this because He bore sin in His body on the cross (1 Peter. 2:24) that those who trust in Him would be saved.

Jesus is the One you need.

If you are not a Christian, and want to be delivered from the consequence of your sin, which is damnation, then come to the One who loves you. Come to the One who died for sinners (Matt. 11:28 ). Turn from your sins. Believe in Jesus. Receive Jesus, who is God in flesh, who died and rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:1-4) as your Lord and Savior (John 1:12). Ask Jesus to forgive you, to come into your heart, and to wash you clean from your sins. Pray to Jesus. Seek Him. Ask Him to save you.

    He will.

I would like to note, that the Jesus of Mormonism (the brother of the devil), the Jesus of the Jehovah's Witnesses (an angel made into a man), the Jesus of the New Age (a man in tune with the divine consciousness), etc., cannot save you from your sins. Faith is only as good as who you put it in. Only the Jesus of the Bible can do that. Jesus is God in flesh, the creator. God is a trinity and Jesus is the second person of the trinity.

    @SangganoBoy:

    (This is serious, OK?)

If I am going to ask you, what do you think and feel will bring you to salvation, what will your answer be?

This is just a questioh, and I encourage you to answer something that you are very sure of yourself, an answer that you really believe in, and I hope it is your own answer...Oks?

Il be waiting for your response...

One must recognize that his presence is a present from his Creator. And all it takes to return back that favor is to make good of one's presence as a present to his Creator.

yes, this is serious, so serious that others(who doesn't have a personal relationship with Jesus) eternal destiny depends on this. eternal life with God or eternal punishment? That's the reason I post this, for others to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Because in this age people are inventing many ways to salvation, religion, doctrines, etc. And the devil has deceived many people to come to believe that Salvation is through religion. The devil can perform many miracles that will divert people from worshiping the true Living God, reveled in the Bible.

Salvation is not based on what you think and feel, it's not even base of who you are. But on God's character by letting his one and only begotten son Jesus Christ died for us as the perfect sacrifice for our sins making acceptable to God, as the bible says "because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." -Hebrews 10:14

Faith alone in Jesus Christ(What he's done, and who he is).

Acts 4: 12 (ESV) "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

    John 3:16 (New International Version)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

No matter how many times we crucify ourselves and do good to other people it will never save us from God's wrath on the judgment day. God made already the way, and the only way which is Jesus Christ

    To God be the Glory!

Well, I dont believe in a supreme being, though ("an invisible man", as the late Carlin puts it). But I acknowledge the effects and implications of a belief to those that do believe.

Anyways, lets talk about what you think (based on what you posted...):

So, you are saying that when God "letting his one and only begotten son Jesus Christ died for us as the perfect sacrifice for our sins making acceptable to" him, that is where salvation lies, am I correct?

I mean, you feel and believe that salvation is "on God's character by letting his one and only begotten son Jesus Christ died for us as the perfect sacrifice for our sins making acceptable to God, as the bible says "because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.", am I correct?

Wait ko sa imo response Bro.

Salvation is believing in Jesus Christ (what he accomplish on the cross and on the third day he rose from the dead and Who he is) this is faith.

    Acts 16:30
He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Acts 16:29-31 (in Context) Acts 16 (Whole Chapter)

    Acts 16:31
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

I was once like you before, and I thank God that he enable me to understand his word in the Bible. I pray to God that through his Holy Spirit he will make you believe of his existence. Unless the Holy Spirit enable a person, he won't believe in God's word.
I know also a lot of people who at first did'nt believe that there's God, one of them is an Oxford scholar C. S. Lewis was initially convinced that Jesus was nothing more than a myth
Read this Was Jesus a real person?

Life is too short to waste, Life is unpredictable, Eternity with God or Eternity in Punishment?

    Matthew 16:26
What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

Well, so there is your salvation.

But incidentally, non-theists dont believe in what you call 'salvation'...So, basically, theists are only those who thinks that non-theists wont be 'saved'. The non-theists in turn simply dont give a crap even for just a second.
