Default Bishop Oscar Cruz and the Roman Catholic Church

The Roman Catholic Church --- or the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in particular --- may deny it is a part of the destabilization move against GMA.

But I am of the opinion that Bishop Oscar Cruz has a tacit approval from the CBCP to pressure GMA government to resign out of "her lack of moral grounds to govern" by way of his jueteng scam expose.

Earlier, the Roman Catholic Church had the scare of Her life when GMA posed the "pro-choice" bill before Congress. The Roman Catholic Church, in so many words, wanted and still wants a "pro-life" stance. There have been many debates about this two differing positions on birth control, euphemistically called "maternal-and-child-health-care".

That bill is still pending in Congress. What better way to defeat that bill than to bring GMA down.

It is still the same old self-interest in the works.

    1. If that question is asked for honest-to-goodness need for information, Bishop Oscar Cruz is that bepestacled bishop of Pampanga now romping the halls of Congress with his witnesses of the so-called jueteng scam. If you watched him very closely now, you would definitely noticed how this Bishop enjoy every minute of live media coverage --- now waving to all who cared to listen his purported PhP10 million cheque he claimed was handed to silence him. To me, this PhP10 million cheque episode seemed to point out he must be part of the jueteng payola.

    2. If that question is asked to signify this Bishop is non-entity and we therefore should not worry about his deliverance, well . . . that indeed is an opinion.

This is the problem, the church needs to MIND THEIR BUSINESS. We will never get out of the dumps until be become a truly secular society. Notice how Spains other old colonies have the same problems, then you have Iran who despite having democratic elections is still highly influenced by religious clerics. We need to make it clear the Church dosent belong in government business. The Catholic Church promote backwards society, creationism over evolution.. dissaproval of birth control, etc..

Very soon --- later this week or early next --- the CBCP will be meeting on the theme "call to action" on the present political crisis.

The legalese of this call is for all to observe the legal procedure --- meaning for GMA to resign from the presidency. With Bishop Cruz stomping like a peacock in the halls of Congress and Bishop Labayen plus two or three more bishops calling for GMA to resign, it will be easy to flesh out this call in the context of GMA's resignation.

But GMA cannot resign easily, notwithstanding the likelihood that she wants to resign, because under this situation Noli de Castro takes over the reign and the Makati business community and other businesses elsewhere do not trust the current vice president to be able to hack the opposition's agenda of wanting the entire government. This is precisely why it is the business sector that continually supports GMA --- come hell or high water, so to speak.

The opposition's call for extra legal means to remove GMA from her position is borne by the fact that (1) impeachment needs evidence to prosper and (2) only in this extral legal way can they have space in the interim government and in the more stable government that follws it.

The way I see things develop is that it might yet take a little more while before we all can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
