I recently read this book by Henry A. Schubart, Jr. It is a wonderful book about architecture. I also found out that he studied in Tallesin. For those who don't know what Tallesin is, it is a school founded by no less than Frank Lloyd Wright, the great American architect. Schubart's building designs are made without destroying nature. Instead he focuses on blending his designs with the environment. Subtlety is key here. It stands out but not being out of place. I think Filipinos are doing this already, what with there nipa huts and bamboo dwellings. But there is so much more in this book that will surely entice architecture students. Take note also the character of Schubart. He is as inspiring(more like dictatorial) as would have Steve Jobs.
