Science are done by Scientists to prove if its a fact... That's a given.

it is a fact that food keeps us alive. Predator and Prey right. But this is not totally true at all. Survival is not about food its about adaptability.

The point about fact and scientific is this. Fact is something we can agree on without the need to verify using scientific method.

Implication:

When you say a theory is a fact... and therefore belongs to science beyond reasonable doubt. Then there is no point of that theory to remain as theory.

A couple of theories with conflicting ideas were published like:

Origins of life.

We come from a primordial soup.
We come from water.
We come from land.
We come from other world.

These claims were theory of different claims. One of them maybe correct or all of them maybe wrong. That's why it is a theory because it is not scientifically acceptable. That is why there is pending inquiries on this matter and if you don't entertain inquiries... then this becomes a science cult.
