My display driver keeps crashing

my display drivers keep stopping. my display freezes then resets... then as soon as I get my display back I get this error message

wuts going on? this keeps happening in 30-40 min. intervals I've scanned the entire thing for viruses and malware got nothing. all my drivers are up to date. I'm running windows7 ultimate and my vga is xfx radeon hd 5970 (now running on defaults and still same thing)
edit:my monitor is a 24" HP LP2475w ...dunno if thats relevant

have you tried changing/updating the driver?

all my drivers are up to date... even my bios.

try uninstall your driver... after that reboot, go to safemode.. run driversweeper, cc clearner, etc. then restart go to windows install the latest ati driver for your video card

well I havent tried that... lets hear some other suggestions first before I do that.

usually that kind of problem happens with bad installed drivers, so its only an advice

dont have to do it..

wait... that driver sweeper thing, thats the same as cleaning and defrag your registry right?
