They wont come near... They will just come in range and fire it in salvos.. It would be difficult for these jet fighters ( F18 ) to stop the swarming Iranian small boats .

The Carrier is more of the national symbol for China presenting itself as a World Power since they are the only one who doesn't have one, even Malaysia and India has one. And in fact it is not for sea skimming anti ship cruise missiles but for ballistic missiles.
