A LOOK AT THE WEST'S 7TH AND 8TH SPOT
vs. Mavs at home - Dirk and the Mavericks are the best team right now, but if they can remember what happened when they last played the Warriors, their 17-straight winning streak was snapped. Many were bit surprised about the outcome, but if the Warriors can duplicate that feat again, they're gonna give the Mavericks a thought or two if they're to meet in the first round.
the more the Mavs are aching to go toe to toe with the Warriors. the more they have to prove that they're a hungrier team this year. the more they want to prove that their critics are wrong. ever tried playing organized sports lately? remember the extra effort, extra training just to beat that other opponent? that's the state the Mavs are in right now.. and it's scary..
as I've said a lot of times before, the regular season games would serve as another film they could use as a tool to correct their flaws in both offense and defense. aside from that, they'll throw it out the window 'coz it's just a regular season game... the playoffs is a different ballgame altogether. and let's talk about the couple of losses against the Warriors, first was on that 4 game skid the Mavs had at the start of the season, championship hangover. second was that game after they have accumulated 17 straight wins. just like the Pistons who got a lot of attention, a lot of distraction when they were trying to get to that 70-wins last year, they had pressure on them. same thing with the Mavs 17 game winning streak. that's too much pressure.
having said that, I know that Don Nelson has something up his sleeve come playoff time but I think the Little General is up to the task. and this game - against the Warriors - will be a preview of what's yet to come. exciting isn't it?
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
it seems the mavericks found a match at what would be their first round match-up. the warriors might get them again this time, 3rd quarter 0:38, golden state 81, dallas 59. it sounds like history will repeat itselfOriginally Posted by lunateec22

I wouldn't be surprised though, the Mavericks are without their vital pieces; Dirk, Stack and JHo.Originally Posted by makoyvelasco

I know the Mavericks are trying to prove it again all out this year, but that's what why i said "if the Warriors can duplicate that feat again", they're gonna have a chance to take the series to seven games, or beat them. And I know that the same with other teams who are on a 15+ winning streak, there is absolutely a lot of pressure being taken, but in that game vs. the Warriors, it could be Golden State's intensity and a knack to snap that streak or just Nelson's knowledge about the Mavs' game. But if the Warriors play that same intensity and determination again, it's going to be a whole new game.
I know about the regular season stuff and what kind of pressure the the postseason brings to every team out there, trust me, I know. It's also a bit exciting, i agree with you on that, because of Nelson's presence in the Warriors' bench. People might think about the Warriors' fierce battle for the 8th seed will worn them out... I mean, they played their hearts out, and possibly their best game after so many years. That said, we're gonna find that out if they still have the same energy they have in the playoffs vs. the Mavericks.

here's the scenario between Golden State and the Clippers with the latter having the tie-breaker between the two:
__________________________________________________ _________________________________________
The Clippers, who hold the tiebreaker on Golden State, beat the Phoenix Suns 103-99 Tuesday to force the race down to the final day of the season.
After winning eight of their last nine games, the Warriors finish Wednesday night at Portland, while the Clippers host New Orleans in a game scheduled to begin 30 minutes later.

a GSW loss + LAC win = LAC takes 8th spot
a GSW win = GSW takes 8th spot
that means GSW holds their fate in their own hands.

Oh my... this is really exciting. I pick the Warriors, since they haven't been in the playoffs for a long time. And I'm pretty sure they have the bench that can combat the Mavericks' than the Clippers'.Originally Posted by omad
by the way they're playing, i think the warriors will make it to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. a game against the eliminated portland is winnable considering that they've even beaten teams like dallas. the clippers cant be counted out yet, but this might be the time that my hornets gonna pull out something so the warriors will have the chance to face the mavs in the first round.
Go Warriors!!!! Beat Dallas!!!!! Beat Dallas!!!!! Beat Dallas!!!!! Beat Dallas!!!!!
And the Warriors made it!!! They're in!!!
