And why not? Those churches are heritage sites and massive tourism draws. Any money spent restoring them will be returned in tourist dollars (and not to sound so cynical, but catastrophe has a way of drawing the curious, so there's going to be lots of interest for the restored churches). Restoring those churches would go a long way to helping prop up the affected communities.
