A LOOK AT THE WEST'S 7TH AND 8TH SPOT
Los Angeles Lakers - they're currently at no. 7, a game away from the counterpart Clippers. Despite Kobe's historic 50-point spree performance, the Lakers' dependence to one player is not enough. They have lost four straight and only won twice in the last ten games. For them to get a hold solidly with that spot, the whole team must step up and wake themselves up for the real deal. They have two games left and if they lose it all, they're gonna find themselves in an early vacation.
Last two games:
vs. Sonics at home - the Sonics are already out of the playoff contention, but that wouldn't be a reason for them not to play the "spoiler" part. Ray Allen is down but Rashard Lewis is playing an All-Star to boost his value in the incoming offseason. Nick Collison and Chris Wilcox are still playing hard despite their 3 straight losses, but winning games is more important than holding that #6 spot for a lottery pick. Kobe and company, on the other hand, should win this needed game to lock themselves for that 7th spot.
vs. Kings at Sacto - The trio of Bibby/Artest/Martin is a legit core and may look to improve their chances of being a better team at Arco Arena. They're already out of the playoff contention but they're still considered a threat for the Kobes, este, the Lakers diay. The purple and gold men should win the last two games, or else they're gonna be one of those teams who are from the outside looking in.
Los Angeles Clippers - they currently tied with the Warriors in the 8th spot, but owns the tiebreaker.Maggette and Brand are now playing like men possessed considering the fact that they're battling for the final 8th spot and may falter in the end if they don't play the same level that they did last year. Shaun Livingston's injury should at least inspire the Clips to fight in order to live another day. While Sam, on the other hand, should play the way he played against the Lakers, not just for the 8th spot sake but for the whole playoffs schedule as well, if they make it. With the Clippers' 6 wins in their last 10, they have the most likely chance of locking the 8th post, or even the 7th.
Last three games:
vs. Kings at home - A most likely match-up of Maggete vs. Artest, who were in the talks of trade in the recent months but has halted down after a series of issues. If the Clips can hold their ground and win this one, they have a legit shot for taking over the Lakers for the 7th.
vs. Suns at Phoenix - This should be the Clippers' toughest test, on the road and against a team that runs their offense 200 miles an hour. The Suns are now locked in the no. 2 spot but if they lose this one in their own turf, they're not gonna be so happy about that. The last game of the regular season is a booster for a team heading for the playoffs, and if the Clippers spoil that one, they're in for a brighter future.
vs. Hornets at home - Chandler is down but Chris Paul is still leading the horde. They may be out of the playoffs but, again, a spoil will bring the Clippers down big time. The Clippers should build their confidence for a solid shot for one last time.
Golden State Warriors - They're tied with the Clippers but, with the tiebreaker subject, they're on the 9th spot and might possibly lose the season and their playoff hopes. They've won two straight and has won 7 of their last 10, numbers that reflects their hardwork and spirit for the final spot. The trade that gave them Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington is clicking well but will it be on time? The trio of Davis/Richardson/Ellis has formed a core that may send the Warriors to their playoff appearance for the first time since missing it in the last 12 seasons.
vs. Wolves at home - Kevin Garnett is out and may look about thinking his future. Ricky Davis and Mike James are still providing the Wolves' firepower but without KG, it won't enough, much more after missing the playoffs for the third straight time. With the Warriors first five still intact, they should win this one without a bone to break.
vs. Mavs at home - Dirk and the Mavericks are the best team right now, but if they can remember what happened when they last played the Warriors, their 17-straight winning streak was snapped. Many were bit surprised about the outcome, but if the Warriors can duplicate that feat again, they're gonna give the Mavericks a thought or two if they're to meet in the first round.
vs. Blazers at Portland - Brandon Roy is in the running for the Rookie of the Year and Jarret Jack and Jamaal Magloire are still in the line-up with their strong presence. But given the Warriors' determination to land the final 8th spot, they should have the upperhand in this one and may look to win it all.
Overall, TAAS NOH? WA LANG JUD KO LINGAW...![]()
salamat Ka-Lunateec...haha![]()
bai lunateec way review pod sa playoff ranking sa east hehehe thanks in advance
lets just hope the lakers would end up 7th and warriors end up 8th
phoenix (2) vs los angeles lakers (7)--a rematch of last years first round match where the lakers almost handed an upset over the short handed suns. but things have changed a bit now. phoenix is with amare stoudemire while kobe is a better and matured player last year, and not to mention the number change
dallas (1) vs golden state (--the warriors are playing superb basketball lately, even beating top teams and they really deserve a playoff spot after been missing it for quite so long. golden state is an upset capable team. this match up might give dallas some thrills in the first round and in the whole playoffs. lets see what baron davis, jason richardson and the rest of the warriors have in store against the loaded mavericks.
the clippers are not playing consistently this season and they're far from their performance last season. probably due to livingston's injury, but still lakers and warriors deserve to be in the playoffs
Later cguro... hehe. Di man ing-ana ka-exciting ang final 2 spot sa East gud if i-compare sa West. The Orlando Magic and the New Jersey Nets won their games today and it's simply enough 7th for NJ and 8th for Orlando.Originally Posted by jungie

Here we go:
The Clippers lost against the Kings at their homecourt and with their 39-41 record, murag maglisud na sila ug bangon.
The Warriors on the other hand won against the Wolves, they now hold a 40-40 record and grabbed the 8th spot away from the erstwhile leader Clippers.
The Lakers are playing against the SOnics right now and a win against Seattle will land them a playoff berth.
kobe scores another 50 for the lakers win over the sonics. i think the lakers have already iced the 7th spot in the west
