That's why people should spend their hard earned money for what is important and needed.
Some people consume Beer versus rice but there are people who will really spend on beer than saving it for rice.

naa pod koy question, since OFWs are sending more dollars and maybe it creates a surplus of dollars here and siguro it also adds to the strengthening of the peso.

Philippine imports rise 21.7 percent in February

Philippine merchandise imports in February rose 21.7 percent year-on-year to 4.491 billion dollars due to increased shipments of electronics and oil products, the government said Friday.

This brought the trade deficit in February to 379 million dollars, a sharp reversal from the 27-million-dollar surplus posted in the same period last year, the National Statistics Office said in a statement.

Total imports in the first two months of the year rose by 24.9 percent to 9.484 billion dollars. This resulted in a trade deficit of 1.142 billion dollars in January-February, 2008, the statement added.

Electronic products, including components and semiconductors, made up 41.9 percent of total imports in February, posting a 9.8 percent growth year-on-year to 1.88 billion dollars.

Such components are largely used in the manufacture of electronics which make up the largest sector of the country's exports.
