THAT SCENARIO is NOT grim for you? We will be run by the military and our bank accounts would be monitored? "crush with iron fist all pockets of resistance by remnants of the old regime" <- this is not grim? the NTC would temporarily suspend bank withdrawals "in excess of what an average middle-class family needed to survive." <- this is not grim?

All I can say is that people need to analyze what's grim and what's not. Trillanes cannot be trusted. Nobody can be trusted. The all have their personal interestes to protect. Do you really believe he doesn't have personal interests to protect?
I dont think its grim. Its normal and besides the little curtailment is just temporary. These are only groundworks for the fresh elections and new government would set up. In my opinion this is just a bitter pill to swallow just to get rid of the country of the corrupt and morally bakrupt Arroyo regime.

For me, I take my chances rather than endure the present rotten leadership of Gloria Arroyo.

all i can say is.. there's no one right now better to lead the nation except aroyo.... and if your rooting for trillanes.. better run a simple survey in the streets right now.. and ask ordinary citizens about trillanes gimick's.. just ask them one word...

coz i've done that to couple of friends.. all they say is "buang"... if you can't run the said survey..i can run that for you .. in weeks time.. i can present you the results..and im dead serious of doing it.. mind u..

[color=navy]I agree with Pinkdimension's words. Just by checking out the poll of this very thread and anyone could see what a lot of people think of Trillianes' antics. The numbers indicate it, a lot of people think that Trillianes was foolish to perform that stunt, unbefitting a Senator. If he was so upstanding and moral, he should respect the office and fulfill the duty that those 11 million people voted him in for.

in my opinion, filipinos are divided in views on this trillanes issue. OFWs in Saudi Arabia cannot make a common stand on the issue. that's what i've read.

and also, again let us remember that people have been taunting trillanes since the oakwood mutiny days. but look where he is now. when he won, I even asked my soldier relative if he has the support of the military. he only said that they are silent about it. i guess he has silent supporters.

so i dont trust the noisy "majority"

[color=navy]Well, I think Trillianes would be wondering where his silent supporters were during his siege of the Peninsula...

    OVERKILL
    Trillanes Logic

It was a mighty fine example made by Antonio Trillanes IV right after the Glorietta 2 blast, where he pinned the blame straight on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, claiming it was the government’s way of distracting the public from the controversies hounding the chief executive.

Damn irresponsible if you ask me.

What evidence did he present? None. What investigation did he conduct? None. As a matter of fact, he issued his statement mere minutes after hearing of the blast. At that point, investigators had not yet even ascertained that it was a bomb. Investigations now reveal it was an accident. Trillanes, however, sounded pretty sure about it being a bomb.

Exactly how sick can a lawmaker or any human being get to even accuse someone of purposely bombing a mall full of people just to “distract” the public from issues? For all the accusations the President is facing, I don’t think even she is inhuman enough to order the bombing of a mall to give the public something else to talk about.

If Trillanes’ logic is to be followed, that is, to accuse someone based on mere speculation alone, then what’s to stop anyone from blaming him for the bombing, saying he did it to give himself and the opposition ammunition to use against the President by blaming it on her? Investigators did say that they found chemicals that may be a component for military-grade explosives. Well, Trillanes was a commissioned military officer. He did lead a bunch of soldiers in trying to overthrow the government. He does still have a lot of friends in the military. I’d say he’s also in a position, maybe even a better position, to order the bombing of a mall. What evidence do I have to that end? Nothing. But remember, we’re following Trillanes Logic here: Accuse without proof. Act without thinking. The Glorietta 2 incident, after all, is not the first time he blamed the government for something without nothing more than his imagination to accompany the accusation.

Skip a month later, at the beautiful Peninsula Manila hotel. After walking out on his own trial, the “senator” marches into the hotel, holes up with his loyalists, and again throws accusations at the President. Proof? None. Just the usual Trillanes Logic of accusing without evidence, to act without thinking. And he has the nerve to claim it is his “obligation” and “mandate,” and that he is doing this in behalf of the Filipino people.

That’s funny. I don’t remember the Filipino people asking him to lead a rebellion.

He talks about justice and defies his own trial. He talks about the violence the government supposedly carries out, yet is unabashedly at the head of rebellions. He accuses others of corruption, yet waves around military-issued weapons (paid for by the people’s taxes) for his own personal crusades. He calls the military’s attempt to retake The Peninsula Manila “violence,” yet it was the second time he led an armed takeover of a hotel, which, I think, also qualifies for theft, since I doubt the management of these two hotels ever asked Trillanes and his ilk to take over and ruin their businesses.
Defiance of law, corruption, violence, theft. The things he has repeatedly accused Arroyo, yet he has not been able to prove. Yet these are the same things he has been doing, with evidence caught on the media’s cameras for all to see.

Oh, and let’s not forget that he had admitted to trying to overthrow the government on live television.

If Arroyo is guilty of anything, present proof. And if she is found guilty by a court of law (not a rebellion), then may she rot in jail forever without chance of pardon by her successor. But until then, she’s the President. And contrary to what Trillanes and his supporters would believe, the majority of the populace is still behind her. That’s why Trillanes’ rebellions never work – contrary to what he repeatedly claims, he does NOT have the support of the people. If anything is certain now, it’s Trillanes who seems to be doing all the wrong in this country. And just at a time when our economy is slowly but surely climbing despite the fight against the rising prices of oil.

It’s getting more and more obvious that the ex-soldier, now supposedly a lawmaker, is getting drunk with power. He gets a good number of votes in the May elections and he thinks that gives him a license to do anything?

    Dream on.
