Thank you for your interest in knowing more about this...
    Below are my responses..

    -where to get the test?
    >> you can take the test in any hospitals or clinic. or go to
    Cebu Social Hygiene Clinics
    or
Vicente Sotto, Sr. Memorial Medical Center
    B. Rodriguez St., Cebu City 6000
    Tel: (+6332) 253-7564

** you can also search this through the internet

    -whats the test process like?
    >> With my experience, I went first to Dr. Malaga, and then she referred me to go to the laboratory to have my test. At the laboratory, the supervisor handled the case since she's the person assigned. We had pre test counseling, then the extraction, then post counseling once you get the confirmatory result.

** FYI: Dr. Malaga is not assigned for this case now, however she can still assist.

-how long until u get results?
    >> initial result will take a day or two, then if it turns out positive (reactive), they will send it to Manila for the confirmatory testing. Then you need to wait for about 2 weeks.

    -how accurate are the results?
    >> from the initial test, there will be about 5% chances that I will turn out negative (false positive) on the confirmatory result.

-how much for the test ?
    >> The test is for free as long as you go to any of the testing hubs.

and finally how do they inform you of your results? how confidential is it?
    >> for the result, it will be enclosed in an envelop. You can work with the person who’ll do your counseling.

For confidentiality, when I was advised to go to the laboratory, I brought a request form (without my name on it). At the laboratory, we had the counseling inside a room and had the extraction there too. Don’t worry too much about this since we have a Law for this. Just look for Republic Act No. 8504…

I hope I am able to answer your questions…
If you need to discuss more about it, just let me know.
For any confidential questions, just send me a PM. I can also refer you to a support group here in Cebu that can assist.
