I told you already, many times (asleep in reading class too?), that you CAN be a good-performing mayor without being arrogant and a drunk. Why should we have to put up with his arrogance? Mayor Rodriguez is proof that you CAN perform well without kicking BBQ vendors and taxi drivers.

Besides, TOMAS's performance is NOT the issue. The issue is why YOU have to keep bringing him up in a thread intended to celebrate Mayor Rodriguez's achievement, and worse, you had to call Mayor Rodriguez's achievement, "a joke".

like i said..i change my mind when i saw the link regarding the methodology of the CONTEST ..i should have not insisted that TOMAS should be on the list...and also we could have avoided crapping this thread if only yu didn't budge yur PREJUDICE opinion on my first querry.

It was stated from the report that MAYOR RODRIGUEZ was chosen because of " WIDE SUPPORT " from across the Philippines . Just a YES or NO answer from iSTORYANS , anybody heard of that name prior to the start of the thread ?

TOLSTOI'S arguments are based on who DESERVES more for recognition . On behalf of MAYOR RODRIGUEZ ...

- he was voted as one of the BEST MAYORS of the world by a never heard of maybe private organization . Bet he may have been also the only FILIPINO MAYOR nominee because I can gurantee RODRIGUEZ has no edge over TOMAS kung POPULARITY lang ang storyahan base sa method of voting .

- anyone here been to SAN FERNANDO , PAmpanga ? AFAIK ... ni dawat na lang na siya ug limpyo from the efforts of Gov Lito Lapid rising from the ashes caused by Mt Pinatubo ... compare the progress of CEBU and SAN FERNANDO and it is a no BRAINER from the last 15 years .

- I am not saying Mr Rodriguez is a bad MAYOR but if the argument is about who is the better mayor ACCOMPLISHMENTS and POPULARITY wise , again the ARROGANT and DRUNKARD Tomas is the sure winner ... LOLZ like the very people who called him drunkard knows him personally .

- Votes that came off from the US and Europe also counts for Mayor R , though we all know the population of KAPAMPANGANS abroad but we also know how Tomas is very well known in some parts of Luzon , maybe in the Visayas ( LOLZ ) and in Mindanao . Damn if I knew about it here in the US on the selection of the best mayors of the world , hagbay ra unta ko ni botar pod ni fafa Tomas .

How would you feel if you won an award, someone set up a thread to congratulate you, then people instead started posting in that thread about how you didn't deserve to win and that someone else should have won?

Again, both you and tolstoi should just create a new thread where you can cry to high heavens and gnash your teeth about why your Tomas wasn't chosen. Pareho ra mong duha nga off-topic sour grapers. Deriding the achievement of Mayor Rodriguez to push your own Tomas infatuation. Then again, I have come to expect that from both of you.

Set aside the Cebuano pride for once... you idolize our mayor so much that you are beginning to be like him (whether thats good or not is up to you) and please show some humility.

I would like to believe that Cebuanos are not arrogant, settle for mediocrity and dont have the crab mentality.

If you do praise our mayor so much, you best tell him to exercise and take better care of himself cause the way he's shaping up...
Your "world's best" mayor might have to step down soon and forego his plans for the city.

@ VIKTOR ....... It is really an OFFTOPIC to mention TOMAS in the thread but the argument came when he ( TOLSTOI ) only said that why Tomas didnt get it when for a fact he deserved it the most .

@ BFG9000 and VIVIP ...... if it takes one LEADER to be ARROGANT to transform one city into what it is supposed to be then so be it . The issue was only to comment that Tomas should have been to that award if it is an OFFICIAL RECOGNITION but heck he dont need that anymore .... yeah it just proves that the recognition is a small time achievement only because how could you have one when votes came from ONLINE VOTING . Who knows some Cebuanos also voted for him because he was the only FIlipino nominee but dont really know him but just to give glory to motherland as a whole .

- I do have an issue regarding the topic , yes I am happy for MAYOR R of his recognition , never said he never deserved it and most of all MAYOR R is not a drunkard and arrogant .

- What I wanted to say , on a sidestep matter is that if TOMAS was a nominee also , he could probably in the top 20 in the world .
