Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson, and the Denver Nuggets spoiled Kevin Durant's NBA debut. Anthony scored 32 points while Iverson had 25 points, 14 assists, and 7 steals for the Nuggets who got 15 rebounds from Marcus Camby. Durant scored 18 points in his NBA start and hit 7/22 from the field, not too bad for a rookie.
LeBron James on the other hand was limited to an uncharacteristic 10 points in Cleveland's opening night loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
San Antonio on the other game proved that they're the defending champions and defeated the much improved Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs' big three done much of the damage to the Grizzlies especially Manu Ginobili who came off the bench and scored 30 points, hitting 5/9 from beyond the arc and 13/14 free throws.
