pride and faith is just the same

proud basta proud lang or feeling it and defensively sensitive kung pangutan-on ngano....inferiority complex?
faith basta faith no need to understand things kay kapoy explain or CANT explain...basta faith lang para wa'y kapoy tubag.
    hahaha

My mom work as a nurse in a retirement home and a hospital here and she has Filipino colleagues (mostly Health Care Aides) . Contrary to popular Filipino belief , "most Filipinos here arethe most HARDWORKING people" is FALSE . Caucasians , blacks , and other races are as hardworking as every other Filipinos . Aside from that , they're always late at work . She said most Filipinos at work they even spend their breaks talking chismis against other Filipinos , if not talking how successful they were as a nurse there in the Philippines . One said , "Kato siya , pag una abot nila diri sa Canada murag refugee . Karon hilas na kaayo manamit" .

That's why our family refuse to associate with Filipinos here . If we would have Filipino friends and eventually become close , I wonder what chismis they would spread to other Filipinos about us .

Even here in Canada , they still brought that ill mentality here . They have children here who are clingy , believe it or not their circle of friends are exclusively Filipinos . Most of them can be found studying in Catholic schools and basketball courts on weekends .

Opinions please. Attack the post not the beautiful and gorgeous thread starter.
My answer would be as simple as ABC.
I am not proud being a Filipino bec there are successful Pinoys like Manny Pacquiao, Charice Pempengco or Lea Salonga giving pride to our motherland. I am not riding on to their achievements either! Saying lines like "Yan ang Pinoy!" and "I am proud to be a Filipino!" in every victorious fight of Many or when Charice sings in big concert tour around the world doesn't mean that I want to be a part of their achievements. Thats theirs not mine.. Saying these lines meant that WE, Filipinos have the CAN DO attitude and we have something to show to the world! They proved to the world over and over again that WE Filipinos can be world class.

i've been in japan and stayed there for a while. sakto jud ka faq, ang kalingawan sa mga pinoy, kay chismis!

and worse, they'll talk something against you behind your back! hay!

mao ng way asenso ang philippines! happy go lucky ang mga tawo. typical filipino, mangutang para lang naay ikacelebrate ug birthday, fiesta.

definitely one of the reasons why I want my citizenship to be changed. well that's not a bad idea at all!

can we also use those traits like those very much flaunted and sloganize in "PROUD TO BE FILIPINO" campaigns like we're hardworking, united to elevate our country our current stinking economic and political situation?

Imagine from 2nd only to Japan status to 3rd world?
hmmm maybe siguro those redundant "im proud to be.... because" trait only deserved to those folks way back then
and mu ingon dayon na pobre tah because of kurakot this politician here and there....why kinsa or unsa diay na sila mga politicians----amerkano, japan? di ba pinoy ra pud?

there are more than just limelight personalities to be proud of. usa pa, we should also do our part para naa sad ta'y ikaproud sa atong kaugalingon, not just being proud of other people's accomplishments.

Ako ning i-balik ning insight ni cptnstar kay ninudut kaayo ni hinuklugan

we are not even proud of our heritage and culture.....ma uwaw maka sulti ug lawm nga term or termino kay badoy daw...dili engliisssshhh

Proud lang tah sa mga sikat sa sports or arts----pacquiao, charisse, lea or to those only known or recognized mostly sa west?

We don't even wear barong now more often than the usual kay pang kasal or konsehal or pang-haya ra
pero proud or ganahan kaayo sul-ob shirt and the only patriotic or filipino about it is naay philippine map or sun and 3 stars...more of fad or gi market lang maayo...if proud ka pag barong...no buts.

how can we be proud even those more popular source of pride is more dictated by the western media?

most dont even have any idea or our true filipino heritage....how can we be even proud of who we are when we ourselves don't even know who we really are?

even national bird nga maya gihimo ug philippine eagle? well..... symbolic sa ang philippine eagle because, like our heritage, culture and economy, delicate na kaayo, tabangonon...mura padung exrtinct and western and amerkano daw as bald-eagle is to US kita pud mag eagle2x sab!!!
