Default Re: Video: PROUD TO BE PINOY? Dont Be, Here's Why...

As a former Filipino , now a Canadian citizen , I believe Philippines has all POTENTIAL to compete globally with the "first world" . We're ranked 31st on COUNTRIES WITH THE HIGHEST GDP GROWTH RATE (rise to 7.3% from last year - apparently the world's highest) . Goldman Sachs even predicts that Philippines will be one of the LARGEST ECONOMY by 2050 .

We could've even be out of the THIRD WORLD - regained composure immediately after the financial loss from Marcos corruption - if Cory didn't changed the constitution . Even the new constitution restricts foreign investments coming in the country . If you think there are a lot of foreign investors in the country , it could've been a lot more if not for the new constitution !

I'd say , it's the Cory's constitution should be blamed for this . I'm not saying Marcos has nothing to do with this either . But changing the constitution for mostly personal gain is beyond me - if she was really fighting for DEMOCRACY . Changing the constitution was like pressing the reset settings on your Blackberry .

Most Filipinos are uneducated and lack of discipline . Corruption is all over every corner . Heck , my 18 year old cousin just bragged on Facebook that he just got a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER'S LICENCE from LTO ! Just when you thought only POLITICIANS are practicing corruption . Loooooool ...

The country lack laws and are too passive in terms of punishing dumb motorists . We have very risky business there like the "habal2x" , which both driver and passenger(s) don't have a helmet . We have small-buses that they think they're competing in the Indy 500 . When I went home to my province way back in 2007 , my trisikad driver was a 12 year old kid . You can get a licence without a written or a drive test if you know "someone working in the inside" . Are the police or agency responsible for road safety taking the issue seriously ?

We have these so-called "the masses" there who are mostly beyond poor and living in squatters . I know there are people in those category are working hard to make a living . But most of the population on the category , just sit back and wait for the government to provide foods - mostly near election time . That's why there's Juan Tamad , a character mocking to these people . They live in a squatters area , but when the land owner kick them out , they'll fight back like if it is between life and death and think are being oppressed because "they are poor" .

Most of them has 8+ children , that's why the country's poverty skyrocketed ! When the government introduced the RH Bill to educate these people about FAMILY PLANNING , SAFE *** and all , Catholic Church were the first one to protest and even gone overboard by threatening Noynoy for excommunication .

Are the taxpayers' money not enough to build housing projects all over the country ? Do we really have to depend on the government ? Do we really need the church's permission to pass laws , let alone believe everything they say ?

It's time to be independent , work yer ass off , and quit whining !!! Stop depending on your relatives abroad either !!!

^^^ imo this video made me realize how this country and its people lost everything. Media hype, oligarchy disguised as 'democracy', mass ignorance, poverty, etc. This could be just a portion of it, if not in general. It's a national epidemic.

To me, this video said it all. And of course, your thoughts still matter so post on!

if we are in a country full of stupid individuals who fail to see things in reality and face the facts then it's not helping.
