Tallo leaves Ateneo: Right or Wrong Move?

My point was that it's the coach's decision on who gets to play.. Whether the Coach is Norman Black, Franz Pumaren etc...





Coach Norman said He's not ready yet. This comment was obviously after seeing him play sa practice and pickup games nila.

If he cannot hack the standard of play expected sa ADMU which requires him to learn mga set plays, he might as well do a Mike Gamboa and move to U.P. and be a star player there.

The coach telling you that di pa ka ready should challenge you to do better... but instead, he whined and quit the team.

You have to work within the system sa school and follow the coach.



If tallo believes nga maayo gyud siya nga player, he wouldve proved it sa practice and pickup games and the coach would've fielded him sa games.

Maybe his style of play dili lang gyud suited for UAAP.
Maybe he's better suited for another league or another school.
Maybe he's so used to being the center of attention being the superstar sa Cebu that he could not take being relegated to the bench.

Like I said, daghan na kaayo stories pareha sa iyaha especially with mga superstars from Ateneo High who upon moving to the seniors division , really struggled with the level of play. People like BJ Manalo are classic examples...

Maybe Tallo's father thinks that his chances of getting in the PBA will be lower if he stays in a superstar laden lineup sa ADMU.

For me, it's too early pa gyud to do what he did. Wala pa man gani mag start ang season sa UAAP.

This is not a forum if people won't share their opinions. If para nimo nag judge na sila, then that's your opinion pero stop saying na kesyo mag una2x ug judge blah blah. It's a bit annoying, you know. How about if mag discuss na lang gyud kung right or wrong move ba gyud iyang decision? As per the title of the thread.

ang nga tao nga dali kaayo mo judge sa decision..besides dili man ta ma affected kung mo balhin siya o dili..leave it to them..its a personal matter by the way...plain and simple..they know the situation better than us..

BTW,its not judging , thats how forum works, u get opinion and silly comments from here. . u dont have to dwell on it, if it hurts ur eyes,reading there post. .

IMO, its a make or break decision from the kid, and entire family. . the kid has talent. .

I believe on the system, if dle ka kampante, or dle ka maka kuha sa basketball style sa team, dle jd ka mka sabay. .You have to adjust and fit in, and next is apply you talent. . look at MIAMI, loaded of 3 best basketball player. .But still struggling sila sa Mavs. . Mavs have only lone ranger dirk. but everybody made an EFFORT and CONSISTENCY to be able to win.

Counted na ba iyang summer sa pagsulti nga disqualified na siya muduwa for other schools this year?

Good point... i mentioned earlier na he should have checked his options first before bolting from the team. Basin mahulog sa wala iyang decision and he ends up with nothing because of residency rules.

Ubay-ubay sad ang gi offeran but not as publicized as Tallo's. And please give some credit to the entire CIT Jrs. for the title. Di ra one-man game ang basketball tawn.

Yup. If he wants to be a big fish in a small pond.. then up to him.. I guess he's not used to playing in a big pond with other big fish.

It's really up to him. I'm just making the case that his leaving the team unya karon nga wala pa siyay lain kabalhinan nga team and naa man nay rules on residency ang mga teams... it seems he made the decision in haste and didn't think his options through.

Pareha ra na ug tao nga wala ma lipay sa iya work, then resign sya usa pa sya mangita ug lain trabaho... pait raba kung ma bakante. At his age also, dapat unta tagaan ug priority iyang education... skwela pa gud na' sya... but he seems to act like this is the PBA already.

lahi ra gyud ang level to be honest... you take pride in your own pero you have to be realistic also.

Let's just say Ateneo currently has the best basketball program in the UAAP and arguably one of the best basketball programs sa tanan colleges.
They just won the Fil-oil recently and the 3 championships say a lot.

If coach ka and your PG is "not ready" yet with your system, imo gihapon pa duwa-on?

He has so many opportunities to prove himself. Practice, Pickup games... freshman pa gud siya.. pasalamat siya na dawat sya sa Team A... unless of course taas na kaayo iya pag tan-aw sa iya kaugalingon. He needs to eat some humble pie and stop acting like Allen Iverson.

So what if he was the Michael Jordan sa CIT? He has to earn his playing time through proving to the coach sa practice and pickup games... obviously he has not done that kay Norman Black doesn't think he's ready.

Again, if he feels nga he's not as good as those other players.. he can be a Big fish in a small Pond. If he thinks he's better than everyone else, then he would not have the mindset nga he cannot get playing time and he would prove his talent sa pickup games and practice and learn the system.

Wala man siya mu "Balhin" ni "Hawa" siya.... which I don't think was the right decision. If he had moved to DLSU, FEU, NU or any other school.. makasabot ko.. but he just packed up and left unya wala pay klaro kung asa siya. Pait kaayo for his future and delikado nga ma zero sya if mu apply ang residency rules.

Yup. bias ko.. fan Ko sa ADMU and I would've wanted him to stay and help the team..

As a Cebuano I'm happy that Tallo and Slaughter are in ADMU. We support our fellow Cebuanos and also show concern sa ilang future. That's why I think his decision to just quit without any other school offer puts his future in serious jeopardy.

Were not just talking about his basketball career but his academics as well.


Pero for a Freshman to demand playing time like him, lisod kaayo na' nga attitude to show to a team like ADMU.

As I said in my first post ani nga thread...

He has the talent but the wrong attitude.
