if you're critical with colors, get a calibration tool. calibrate your monitor & your printer.

mac give out vibrant colors but are those correct under your working ambient light? run a calibration tool on your mac and you'll be surprised.

I've met people who are very critical about the colors on their photos and they all advice to get a calibration tool. Mac or PC. I already mentioned this before, portable devices are not as consistent as dedicated monitors. these portable devices adjust their displays automatically depending on the current power source and existing ambient light. they're not that consistent. this is true to both Mac and Windows laptops.

    BUT!!

When people ask me what's good to buy. I always consider or profile the person. This is my basis on what my advice will be.

    If the person ..
    - Is not a tech person
    - Has no time to tinker around kay always busy doing something else (as if)
    - Has the money to buy expensive stuff
    - Loves to sit and drink coffee in the mall
    - Loves to buy stuff because that's what their idols are using
    - Wants to be "in"
    - The type of person who can easily be tricked to "hit the monkey" (its a banner and if you don't get what I mean, then you belong to this group too)
    - and that I know that this person will just add to my daily stress because he'll probably be calling me for help if I let him buy a PC.
<<< I always tell them to get a Mac. No money? then go get a Penguin.

    If the person ...
    - Is a tech one
    - Has the time to tinker around his PC (Mod it, Install Side panels and Custom Heat sinks, Over clocking)
    - Wants value for his money
    - Or gamay ra money
    - Doesn't mind re-installing windows. (huh? I only reinstall when I put in new hardware upgrades )
    - The type of person who goes to a coffee shop, orders coffee and talk with real friends and real people.
    - The type of person who plays PC games.
    - Loves windows and Penguins.
<<< Then I welcome him to the army and tell him to buy a PC.

I do find good points in Mac machines. I'm always surrounded by Mac users trying to convince me to switch.

But price to performance value is just more important to me. Well, I don't have the budget man sad to buy really expensive stuff and not being able to justify the expense.

I assume colors are very critical to the person who started this thread? Then my advice is.... Mac or Windows based Laptop, it's really up to you.

But please get a calibration tool, generate a profile and pass it to your printer!
