The results for the Global badges are out.
It's a shame we didnt' win, but we did get a special mention here:

** For a list that was created 2-3 days before the deadline,
I didn't really expect to win. But I know which places we need to improve on.
Let's try again the next time around.
But for Cebu to win, we need to do more than just 1 guy (tweeting and) looking for followers.

** As of this time, the list has 52 followers.

Hi Joy,

Thanks for getting back at me.
I am Geff Chang, software engineer in {secret}.
BUT, this event is not connected to {secret} in any way.

This is also not directly connected to the Foursquare (4sq),
a location/check-in social networking site.

I am just an ordinary 4sq user (but also a SuperUser Level 1)
sharing the freebies Foursquare gave away to celebrate the worldwide
Foursquare Day (April 16) event.
So, this is a personal initiative.

With regards to the points you raised,

(1.1) Awareness of 4sqDay event.
I will blog about your FREE DRINK UPSIZE offer (from 7:45-10PM) in geffchang.wordpress.com
(but take note that I don't have a lot of followers).
However, I will also share this post in the following sites:

(1.2) Timeframe of event. 7:45PM - 10:00PM.

(1.3) Stickers.
I can provide stickers - 1 for each glass door?,
if Bo's Coffee is OK with them.
They are plastic, and can be easily removed,
in case Bo's Coffee wants to remove them after the event.

(2.1) Check-in verification.
You can have the customer show their check-in from their phone.

(2.2) Program.
There is no program (but you can suggest to us);
we don't want to disrupt normal business operations.
I will just gather with friends in a table or two;
just your typical bunch of coffee goers.
And I'll try to arrive at the venue around 7:30PM.

(2.3) Freebies.
We'll layout the Freebies on the table.
Checked-in users can claim a 4sq item (sticker or button),
regardless if they purchased coffee or not.
BUT, we'll verify if they're checked-in to your venue.

Since I don't know how many will come, I'll limit to 1 per user;
(In the meet-up, 26 have said they're attending (but there could be MORE).
Business owners (with glass doors / windows)
can get an extra 4sqCling sticker if they have a 4sq venue.
I don't know how to verify business owners,
but I'll follow the HONOR SYSTEM.

* We'll give freebies to Bo's Coffee staff if they want them.

Other points to consider:

(3.1) Swarm badge.

If at least 50 users check-in at your venue,
Foursquare users can unlock the Swarm badge.

If 250 users check-in at your venue,
Foursquare users can unlock the Super swarm badge.

(3.2) Statistics.
I will keep track of the number of users who have claimed an item.
I suggest you keep track of the number of users who have upgraded their drinks.
(Maybe I can ask for this info, so I can include it in my post-event blog post?)

(4) Further discussion.
Should you want to meet-up, you can text me at {secret};
let's schedule in advance since I have (ir)regular working hours.
If Bo's Coffee wants to officially use Foursquare in their daily
operations by offering "Specials" (a 4sq feature) for 4sq Mayors,
or for people who check-in to the venue,
I can discuss a bit about this. But note that I am not 4sq staff.

(5) What this means for me.
Nothing. Just my time for promoting Foursquare and Bo's Coffee.
If people would also support my Cebu City list,
so Cebu will earn a Foursquare badge (in the near future),
that would also be fine.

We lost in the last badge contest.

(6) What this means for Bo's Coffee.

Probably the only venue in Cebu who officially supported Foursquare Day.
And, probably the first Foursquare Day here in Cebu.

IF the Swarm badge will be unlocked in Cebu City (for the first time),
Bo's Coffee's name will be displayed together the badge.
(but only friends can see the venue where it was unlocked)

** Manila (through @4sqPhilippines) is also doing a Foursquare Day event,
and is being supported by Starbucks with cupcakes (?);
at least that's what is says on their Meetup page:
