I think that one other factor that helped Binay was that he was number 1 in the ballot. After all, nuisance presidential bet Vetellano Acosta, who was also number 1 in the ballot, got more votes than Perlas, De Los Reyes, and Madrigal, even though he was barely noticeable --- ever. (Though the fact that he labeled himself as KBL might have won him a few Marcos supporters.)

as far as i know, he was about to run for presidential race, but he didnt, he make use instead the popularity of noynoy aquino. in other words, functional or bandwagon kaau cya for me, he even left his party, that left loren no choice to join manny villar's party. i found evil on him, no wonder he backed noynoy campaigns, made ads for noynoy. you know why? cause he's trying to get the support of noynoy in the future or the votes that noynoy gets in the last election. i can say its a smart move but, i find evil in there. but thats politics in the philippines, most are balimbing and functional.

i forgot the issue that i really find him peke, that was so like 2 or last year ago, maybe i can recall it soon. all i know he's just pa pogi on tv..

Don’t you sense duplicity in that statement? First of all, if Escudero thinks that there are crooks in the NPC who are involved in the anomalies in the present government, then how come he did not leave the party earlier, denounce these crooks and formally join the Opposition? Or form a new Opposition party if he is uncomfortable with the other Opposition parties? If Escudero is indeed that righteous, why is he suggesting only now that he was in the company of crooks in the NPC?

He could have made a clean break from the NPC when he ran for Senator in 2007 as an Opposition candidate but he did not. Kiko Pangilinan made that transition, ran as an independent and won. So, why did Escudero avail of NPC support in 2007 while banking on the favorable public sentiment for the Opposition? Is that not what opportunism is all about?

well first chiz is a siguarista na type na politician and i dont think that is bad per se. Chiz escudero did not run for pres because he had a slim chance of winning, he did try to get erap not to run or at least have him as a running mate but it was futile. then there is noynoy aquino and the cory magic.

chiz know that we filipinos do have a tendency not to vote for losers when they run again, so he was avoiding being a loser.

So as a sigurista politician he made use of noynoy's popularity and the masa by choosing noy as his pres and binay as his vice pres. He have connections on both parties.. the liberal and the pwersa ng masa although dili kaayo formal... now both people have "utang na loob" sa kanya. and as what Kris Aquino said she will be nice to everyone but she will be nicer to people who put their support on her brother... you can just read between the line...

from the start escudero knew that noy will most likely to win the race, when you want to to be the pres in the coming election which is 6 years from now you dont want to be an enemy of the president who won by 5m votes against the 2nd placer. We have columnist and other sect praising noy as symbol of change and to actually go against that thinking of the many filipinos will be similar to be labeled as not wanting change at all worse tuta ni GMA...

as for binay, we all know that chiz escudero endorsement did help his campaign and also votes from erap followers...

but escudero did made a mistake... it should have been him and not binay...
