Please be on topic. As much as I want to discuss religious facts. I'm sure you'll find another thread related to it. This topic on the other hand is related to Fr. Suarez and the 1Billion shrine for the love of himself. I mean for God
No one said you need a building just to pray. But if you are going to worship as a large group, you need one. Do not confuse the issue.
You are confusing the issues. You claimed that there was a specific reason why these people commit the same sins. Now PROVIDE PROOF that supports your claim.evidencesi erap bro di bah corrupt man to?magsimabahan gale bisan sud-gawas prisuhan...plastik au...
No one is disputing that such persons commit sins repeatedly. The issue is your baseless claim for WHY they do so.
So far you have ZERO EVIDENCE to support your claim. Will you ever provide any?
Lots of people wrote the books in the Bible, over several thousand years. The Church took several hundred years to decide which books should be in Bible and to finally compile it. There was no Bible (as we know it) in the early Church. The books that eventually were compiled as the Old testament already existed and were used. The books that made up the New Testament were written by members of the Catholic Church.m wonderin that too...who wrote the bible?
The Israelites built an IDOL, not an icon. They worshipped it as a god. A statue of Mary is an icon, and it is NOT worshipped at all. It is then no different from a statue of Jose Rizal, who is admired as a hero. In the Bible, God specifically allowed the building of certain statues or icons. In fact, He commanded it to be done. It is in the Old Testament, Exodus. 25:18–20.
If a statue (or any object) is worshipped by anyone, then those who do so are committing a grave sin. The Church repeatedly warns people about such idolatry. I hear it all the time.

You haven't seen me either, and I most certainly exist.proof that god exist...have u seen him?
Here's something to help you. A re-statement of some of the proofs of God's existence. By Peter Kreeft. Try reading and understanding them first before commenting.

Now, since you're an atheist and believe God does NOT exist, kindly provide me proof that God does NOT exist.
It is not enough to say His existence is not proven. That does NOT prove He doesn't exist. That would be a logical fallacy. Argumentum ad ingorantiam. This is the definition of such an error from Wikipedia:
Argument from ignorance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The argument from ignorance, also known as argumentum ad ignorantiam ("appeal to ignorance") or argument by lack of imagination, is a logical fallacy in which it is claimed that a premise is true only because it has not been proven false or is false only because it has not been proven true.
So, where's your proof for atheism? None?
Good point. But as I said earlier, very few facts have been posted here on that issue. We should find out more BEFORE making claims about it. I posted some stuff, but surely there is more to be found.Originally Posted by istoryaaah

And you claim all your wikipedia articles as all FACTS? wow... learn to write your own articles and call it yours before pushing for FACTUAL information coming from internet sources. As I said there is nothing here for you to conquer. Don't mislead yourself into thinking we would take your point without an argument. We had a good education also. bring your facts elsewhere... I'm interested more on Fr. Suarez's facts rather than yours. LOLGood point. But as I said earlier, very few facts have been posted here on that issue. Your above statement makes no sense. All I'm saying is we need to study the issue some more. Apparently, you don't.
If you're so interested in facts, the why are you too lazy to find any? I'm not going to do your homework for you.
All you've got is opinion based on hearsay.

what is there to study when all we asked is why the 1Billion worth of stone statue or shrine as you call it. This is like 1 + 1 = 2, don't answer "two" one digit is enough.
correction... mine is opinion based on "common sense". I'm too lazy too find facts? why would I search for facts when I have "common sense". You're too intelligent on finding facts you miss the one "right under your nose"... come on.. don't be too personal, none of us here are saint talkers. Would you believe me if I say I'm handsome? coz I wouldn't believe me.
Don't preach for right and wrong here. This is a forum discussion thread, everybody's opinion is right, regardless on how you interpret it. LOL, you must be very accurate in your facts, you should start your own book. I'd love to read it one day. don't push it too hard manny I know your nothing but facts.. LMAO

Back to topic ta and lets be realistic here...Bro unsa man imong ma say anang project ni pader Suarez?
Uyon kaba ni pader? simple question needs simple answer...
PS: dli ta mag post anang articles kai useless na pls lang.. it could be bias or not.. lets use our common sense dre ok?
as I've repeatedly stressed out. You don't need hundreds of paragraphs and stanzas to comment on this particular topic. clearly manny understands that. don't you manny?
You do need the facts.
Have you examined the facts upon which you base your opinions?
- Will Fr. Suarez's project really cost 1 billion pesos?
- Is this amount to be spent on the statue alone?
- Can the shrine raise even more money for charity and humanitarian projects?
- Is Fr. Suarez's project approved by the bishops?
- Is he using Church funds?
- Is he going to use donations specifically intended for this project?
- Etc., etc...
