bsag asa ka na school, kung maayo ka, ma-hire mn jd ka. tungod ba kay taga USC or UP or CIT or anywhere else, maayo na? i don't think so. anyways, first on your list should be: C esp. on modular programming+pointers / memory manipulation. a strong background in C is a definite plus and it makes learning other languages as easy as ABC (well, not really but dramatic ang diperenxa gyd).

and finally, research research research. do not reinvent the wheel.

Lage ang mga school nga gipang-mention kay pulos nindot pero iyang pangutana kay asa dali ra mahuman nya makamao na dayon ka mo-program. LULZ! Maypa pa tutor nlang ka bai if ing-ana stayla, pero if ngilngig imong brain nga mu-store og logic og systematic viewing, fast learner ba aw payts kaayo.

You don't need best school to study and start programming for your future career. Schools are just following curriculum, teachers are known to be masters of that since they've been teaching that repeatedly for years. 98% of the students in the entire class won’t become programmers, and not all can understand quickly, so teacher's may slow down, letting others to catch up. Book is just 2% compared to the real environment, and how many percent taught by schools? And how many percent learnt by the students? or learnt by you through reading?

It's no surprise that fresh graduates don’t know how to use pointers, build classes, construct arrays, application of linked list and trees, and all those basic stuffs found in every books.

The best way to study is to go with someone who is doing it on the field, allow him to give you some task, pin point some topics for you, explained all the details to you. Likewise, you should be hell more resourceful, patient and hardworking. A lot of things need to be thrust in your head. like OS architecture & system objects, OOP concepts, language syntax & features (1 language is not enough), and years of coding, experiment, debugging & fixing common mistakes.

Enjoy programming as if it is one of your hobbies... Make programming as your GAME. Be happy of doing that all day and night. do this for at least 2 years, and you have a fine investment for life.
