actually in US, Comcast provides 50mbps for a whooping $149/month. But the speed is whooping sad.
Its 6mbps' price is compared to PLDT/globe's "2mbps". Keyword: monopoly.
I rather use skycable internet. better service and speed.

Q: What if normal internet connection speed was 100 MBps?
A: Mosamot kadagahan ang illegal downloads (illegal sharing of Softwares/Movies/Music etc)
Q: What if normal internet connection speed was 100 MBps?
A: Slow progress sa trabaho... (Nag watch na ug Online movies mga employees from Manager down to Janitor)
In first-world countries such as Japan, a 100 MBps fiber-optic link to a customer's house is not unusual.
So to answer the original poster's question on what will happen if 100 MBps connection becomes the norm, the answer is that cable TV and fixed landlines will become obsolete; they will be replaced by ultra high definition streaming video and voice over IP. =)
