yes you might have seen those "glitches" but have u ask yourself to look on the other side that created factors that a filmmaker could say.. " now. I am ready to die."

in d world of filmmaking, his passion and storytelling come first rather than skippy and trendy angles...

    MrBiddle,

Sorry I wasn't clear with my post.
I say rules as I refer to the technical requirements of filmmaking. Coz as an audio-visual storyteller I think we should consider these things if we intend to improve our output.

    Exodus,

One of the factors why a filmmaker can say I'm ready to die is when he's starving coz noone is willing to spend there money to buy tickets to watch his film. hehe.

Seriously, HONESTY indeed is missing in our film industry. We tend to give so much credit for effort and be blinded with the aspects to be improved. I agree it's right to encourage others to make films but I think it's better to push them to excel.

So as budding filmmakers in a budding industry in Cebu isn't it right to start the effort with these values?

    Best regards...

angryliar: i suggest that you do not generalize all cebuanos as being narrowminded.

However, let me assure you that cebuano filmmakers are trying to improve their craft and will come up with an "impressive" film. As young as the indie filmmaking scene is in cebu and the lack of exposure to "impressive" filmmaking, this will not hinder the cebuano filmmakers to improve themselves. After all, cebuanos are known to pursue their passion with zeal.

My apologies, I was way out of line on my comment. Just that this kind of thinking bothers me. Should have addressed it to the original poster but it's worth nothing anymore.

If my posts sound too strong maybe my opinionated ego needs to be checked but it won't prevent me from being honest.

    Best regards...

No problem. Your honesty does open our eyes, to look at the state of indie films of cebu, and how to improve in the craft.

why is it that there is a peculiar familiarity with your posts? Were you at the closed door conference during Sine Ug Katilingban?

i agree with you, exodus. "in d world of filmmaking, his passion and storytelling come first rather than skippy and trendy angles".

let me add that i'm impressed with the recent posts. These are constructive criticisms and I hope we all take it seriously.. after all, in the end, it is to our own advantage.

I have a movie where there is an upside-down POV shot but the cinematography in it is masturbatory as I attempted to move the camera around.

I thought Kay Eee Dubya El nang pabali-bali ang shot.....
