I'm from Bacolod and I've lived here for over 4 years, before that Iloilo for less than a year. Economy-wise, Cebu is undoubtedly better kay diverse ang job opportunities. The survey's criteria : standard of living, quality of life and cost of living - are also my criteria for a stress-free life. For example, nindot baya mga jeepney drivers didto compared diri, they don't overspeed or go before you get to your seat hehe It really depends kun unsa mas importante sainyo - good economy / jobs / entertainment vs cleaner environment / less congestion / less crimes.

Depende ra na sa imo perception. You like Cebu because its your comfort zone. Aside from what you stated above, maybe you have personal attachments here that could negate any negative points sa Cebu particularly the serious drug problem and the very, very, very, very, very high crime rate. Not to mention sa daghan mga garaon ug mga mangingilad nga mga tawo.

Don't be quick to state that "Cebu is the best!" especially if it's the only city that you've ever lived in.

They make so much fuss about the incomplete data in the category of cost of living. They should be thankful. I dont think the cost of living in Cebu is better than Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Davao. Heck, Cebu could have been much expensive than Manila. Its possible!

Had the cost of living data been complete, the result could be much worse. Cebu couldnt even land in the top 20.

~Promising kaayo ang cebu bro kung mkasuroi lang ka.. not just the city, naa pai laing lugar nga nindot puy.an.. its just wa lang ka kabaw cost focus nimo ang city jud and the negative side of it, try to xplore cebu.

~ People can chose asa ilang trip, Kung kinsa tong ganahan ug nature, you can go to busai, and for those beach lover naa daghan sa mactan and northern and southern part of cebu. or for those who love night life naay daghan diri. many to mention.

~There are so many available jobs here in cebu, its up to the job seeker if worthy ba sila sa position nga ilang gi.apply.. sorry nlang sa mga wa nadawat.
~For the bad elements, its common to a civilize place nga naagubot.. d na malikayan bro, you cant control things in just one blink.
~Try to search the best school here in cebu and you will be amaze, its up to the students kong magtarong ba sila ug skwela. lol

ive also been to a lot of places and comparing them to cebu only makes me love cebu more..i guess lain2x lang ta ug basihanan sa atong kahigugma sa lugar'ng natawhan

I don't hate Cebu, in fact I love the province. Yes its progressive alright, but the quality of life is also dwindling. We have zero forest cover, our water supply is scarce, the air quality is worsening. Traffic is really bad. These are not necessarily the price of progress if it is properly planned. That's all. =)

It's time we wake up to the reality that we have to do something to improve the "real quality" of life, yes its true our exports are up, our investments are up, the economy is up, but these doesn't necessarily equal to livability. Let's stop equating both. And please lang, let's stop this "It's either you're with us or against us mentality" It doesn't hurt to criticize ourselves ones in awhile, if its the price of real progress. It is never a good idea to be too defensive. Gamay ra ganing saway, react dayon! Maybe there's a hint of truth to it.

To my fellow Cebuanos its time to look out and see the outside world, kay we still have a lot to learn.
