hahaha.. first there are two thing you must know that are beyond the semantics... *** workers and prostitutes..
1.*** workers have benefits, they can say no, they have rights independent of their patrons, they are not exploited... they have a choice on the service they will provide and to whom... they have the choice to remain as *** worker or not.. they dont feel exploited...
2. prostitutes are exploited because they dont have a choice. they are patron depended, they cannot say no, they have no benefits... they are given no other choice but they are to remain prostituted women until their pimp decided they retire...
im for legalizing prostitution to stop the exploitation of women...
Manny, your alarmist analogies of rape, murder etc don't hold water. Rape and murder have clear victims whereas a financial arrangement between two consenting adults does not. Also when you mention drug peddling well......alcohol is a drug and has been legally regulated for hundreds of years!
was prostitution ever been illegal? hehehe...

No. It is your reasons for legalizing prostitution don't hold water. All those other crimes are also as old, difficult if not impossible to eradicate, and can be "regulated" to prevent their control by criminal gangs just like prostitution. Your reasoning applies to them as well. Your logic is leads to absurd conclusions. Reductio ad absurdum.
You also seem to forget that most prostitutes are forced into their "profession" either through threats, force, or financial need. Prostitution is a form of human trafficking. There IS a victim in prostitution.
You didn't make much sense I'm afraid, but I will try to understand your perspective. Firstly please don't put words in my mouth, I am not endorsing legalizing prostitution merely saying that avenue should be explored in the interests of a better society. I disagree when you say that most prostitutes are forced into prostitution, I believe that most take that route (however unwise) as a personal decision. Now if some of these people are being exploited by unscrupulous bosses then surely legalization/regulation would better protect them! Aren't you in favor of helping these people in a practical way? Perhaps it is a bitter pill to swallow, but the world is a shade of gray and inflexible morality-based principles are nothing but a hindrance to progress in matters such as these.
You're certainly not making sense either. Your assessment is out of touch with reality.
Women do not enter prostitution for fun or for career advancement. It is a dangerous and unhealthy line of work, with little dignity and life-threatening. Women enter it because they are forced to do so. A "decision" that is arrived at because of dire financial need is hardly a FREE decision. And a great number of women remain in prostitution because they cannot get out of it -- even though they desire to do so. Perhaps you ought to do some research into human trafficking. There is a reason why another term for a form of prostitution is white slavery. And these women (and children) are certainly victims.
Morality is exactly the way top solve these problems.
And you still have not been able to refute the argument that your reasons for "exploring" legalization of prostitution still applies to rape, murder, child prostitution, etc. You are simply contradicting yourself.
