Siguro younger generation of NBA fans doesn't much appreciate Michael more than Kobe coz they haven't seen what Mic can do..
I think the stats says it all..

It was Shaq's dominance that lead Kobe to have his first 3 rings...
Post-Shaq LA was a mediocre team under Kobe's leardership..
Until Gasol was added to their roster that they again dominate the NBA..

Jordan doesn't need a dominant big guy to win a championship..
Though he has always his trustee sidekick in Pippen but Pippen's early career was not really that good.
It was through Jordan's encouragement that makes Scottie what he is..

And one thing...Jordan doesn't lost any championship series..
