i think that is what the modelers call "color modulation".

i have 2 approaches to that bai.

1. use an airbrush: mix a lighter shade or darker shade of the body color (depends on the effects you want to achieve). dilute it into 20:80 mixture (paint:thinner). then spray using an airbrush with the thinnest line at a low psi (around 8-10 psi) at the desired areas.

2. use a chalk pastel: ground some chalk pastels and mix accordingly to have the color that you want. then use a modified paint brush (kanang pinutol para stiff na siya) to apply.

Follow up question lang bai, and chalk pastel ako pa bas-on tubig or as is ra? Tamiya weathering pigments man ako gamit nuon pero I guess same parehas ra?

pwede ra bas-on ang chalk pastel or tamiya weathering pigment bai. pero kung color modulation ang ganahan nimo na effect, mas maayo kung dry lang. maayo lang nang basa na chalk pastel or tamiya weathering pigment kung mag simulate ka og mud or smudges.

sir, mao ni kadto sa transformers collections gahuna2 bitaw ko pwede unta mga scale models..
