I just watched Wowowee and switched channels back and forth between ABS and Eat Bulaga. Dead as ever man ang set sa pikas oi. Malingaw lang ko magwatch. Lahi ra jud ang production sa Wowowee ang ang pag host sa mga hosts =)

have you read ABS' statement about the airing of Manny's fight? what are your thoughts?

^^Have you seen that issue about a falsified document from Solar Sports that TJ Manotoc was referring to against a document that he/ABS have. I don't know the whole story around it but people in another forum are talking about it.

For me, it's actually kind of a mess-up that ABS is having right now. Maybe, before accepting Manny's offer to give the rights to air his next fight, ABS could have had a confirmation with SOLAR sports or even just meeting up with everyone concerned coz things like are happening now can be foreseen naman, taking into consideration the existing network war. As a Kapamilya, I don't wanna sound like hypocrite...yes, I am VERY happy with Manny's decision to have ABS as a media partner again...proving his faith in ABS as major force to reckon with. If I were GMA or SOLAR Sports, of course, malain ko...but I can't do anything about Manny's judgement. And I think it's foul to accuse ABS prematurely when all they did was just to happily welcome Pac's offer. I don't think ABS would maliciously involve itself into a hullabaloo, especially in a very high-profile issue like Pac's fight. Let's just wait further for a more in-depth understanding of this issue. Hopefully, this could be settled, which could have been done earlier unta. But, what can we do diba? It's already messed up, just because of a misunderstanding(?)

ABS-CBN: Pacquiao won't violate GMA-7 contract

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. on Friday warned GMA Network Inc. from making “veiled accusations” over Manny Pacquiao’s decision to leave Solar Entertainment.

“We understand GMA7's disappointment about the decision of Manny Pacquiao to have ABS-CBN as its media partner, but it should avoid making thinly veiled accusations based on a columnist's speculation. It alleges that ABS-CBN's supremacy in reach is to be used for Manny Pacquiao's political plans—which is not true,” ABS-CBN said in a statement.

GMA was referring its claims over the article written by columnist Beth Celis, which was published by Philippine Daily Inquirer on March 18, 2009.

ABS-CBN said the airing of future Pacquiao fights will not violate the boxer’s contract with GMA, which prohibits Pacquiao from appearing on "any television program, show, promotion or event of any other broadcast media entity."

“Manny's fights are not programs, shows, promotion, or events of ABS-CBN. As the media partner of Manny Pacquiao, the Kapamilya network will only be airing Pacquiao's boxing matches that will be produced by Top Rank,” said ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN added that Solar has no legal basis to take legal action since the network did not violate Solar’s rights. The network also made it clear that Pacquiao voluntarily made the network transfer.

“Pacquiao rescinded his contract with Solar before he approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner. We merely welcomed him as a Kapamilya,” ABS-CBN said.



Pacquiao renewed his ties with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. last Wednesday and said the network will air his matches including his highly-anticipated fight with British superstar Ricky Hatton on May 2.

Pacquiao said he rescinded his contract with Solar because of the latter’s reported delays in fulfilling its financial obligations.

“The partial payment belatedly made yesterday (March 16) is proof of undue delay by Solar in the performance of its obligations,” the boxer said in his letter addressed to Solar.

This marked the end of Pacquiao's contract with Solar Entertainment Corp., which has blocktime agreements with GMA for the airing of Pacquiao's fights in the country.

just watched the news in GMA (while surfing) that the fight will be aired by GMA and Solar.

good thing that all the trouble is done with.

bad thing for the fans though who can't afford pay-per-view. they'll have to make do with long commercial breaks and the not-so-competent commentators...

Well good thing na naayos na karon....Still, welcome back Manny...the very gesture na nagpakita nga sa ABS iyang bilib...that's already very heartwarming. Nevertheless, goodluck with the fight! A kapamilya will always be a Kapamilya...!!!

Luoy lang kaayo si Manny coz most people from the other side already called him names and judged his actions...and now....well, let's see what's gonna happen next!
