Following this reasoning, we might as well legalize and regulate murder, drug peddling, other forms of human trafficking such as child prostitution, robbery, and rape.

That is the logical conclusion of such absurdity.

It is not called "The oldest profession in the world" without reason. Prostitution will always exist in one form or another. Either control (and contain) it through proper regulation or drive it underground where it will still exist with the big difference being that the ones controlling will be undoubtedly be gangsters. Many countries around the globe opted years ago to regulate prostitution (to varying degrees )within society, it may be worthwhile analyzing the wider effects associated with that change.

That same logic can also apply to murder, drug peddling, child prostitution, robbery, and rape. So why not legalize and regulate those too?

The absurdity of the logic becomes clearer when you consider these other crimes.

So again the same logic applies to rape, murder, child prostitution, etc. You are contradicting yourself -- again.

Funny how you want to legalize the exploitation of women. That's real hypocrisy for you.

Uh, I referred to MURDER, not killing. You do know the difference, don't you?

Prostitution is different from murder, robbery, rape because the former is a personal choice while the latter are deprivations of another persons rights.

Like I said, prostitution is not going away... it is not to be desired but alienating the industry will push it underground and make things worse.
I dont see how the status quo will solve the problem as the church or the government has not been effective at solving the issue.

For me, as long as you do not deprive other people of their rights... then you can do whatever you want. When you kill someone, you deprive that person of his right to live, when you rape someone .. etc etc.. you get the point.

Drugs and prostitution are different. No one is forcing you to hire a prostitute and no one is forcing illegal drugs down your throat. These industries should be controlled / regulated. For prostitution, age limits and health checkups, for drugs only certain substances can be allowed for appropriate use (medical).

Akong opinion is based on the reality we're living in and how we are going to solve it logically and practically... dili ni utopian world as the church makes it out to be. Even if we dont do drugs or want prostitution,... THE FACT IS... it already exists... now you can go whining about it or actually do something to solve the problem.
