what dallas is accomplishing right now is somewhat similar to what detroit did last year.... they lost in the finals in the previous year and was tearing up the regular season... everybody was projecting that they would win almost 70.... but then, they folded up in the playoffs.

im not saying that dallas will fade in the playoffs like last year's pistons, it's just that you can never discount teams with a lot of big bodies, like Miami with Shaq, Zo and Udonis, and also, Detroit with C-webb, Dyess, Sheed and their support - Davis, Mohammed & Maxiell. When playoff comes, and games have a tendency to grind to a halt, expect the team with the more dominant bigs to succeed. (Of course not to mention, these two Eastern clubs have excellent backcourts, especially if Wade is able to come back)

And also, let's not forget, either the Suns or the Mavs still have to hurdle the Spurs.

The game between Det and Pho somehow had a playoff feel, where the game was deliberately slowed down by det. Det continually pounded it inside, alternating between their three bigs. Det totally dictated the pace of the game, holding the Suns to an uncharacteristic 83 points- 27 pts below their average.

On top of it, Steve Nash doesnt play a lick of defense - Flip Murray's eyes light up everytime he sees Nash in front of him.

While the top western teams are pretty to look at, the top eastern teams somehow get the job done. "Bulok" as the east maybe overall, they've won two of the last 3 championships, actually.

Well, let's see how the Det-Dal game will play out.

I guess, the Pistons-Suns game was a display of pure defense against pure offense. The Pistons still has that knack to handcuff the offensive flow vs. other teams while setting their own plays with discipline. The Suns were clearly outplayed, and since they lack a legitimate source of defense, the game was blown wide open.

It's ironic how a body of sports analysts and critics put the West teams on the top and then all of a sudden a team from the East plays the spoiler and actually wins the 'chip. The "whoever wins the West Finals wins the NBA Finals" mode.

AI torched the defenseless suns with 44 points and 15 assists. melo added 29 points as to what became the best nuggets game so far since AI was traded. the suns should started thinking of playing defense. though they have a good record, they play mediocre basketball after the all-star break

If the Lakers keep on winning 'til they settle the 6th spot, and the Suns continue to solidify that 2nd spot, it's going to be the Suns-Nuggets in the first round. The story will be settled in that seven-game series and to determine who has the upper side.

    CELTICS-SPURS

After 18 straight losses and 17-year drought against the San Antonio Spurs, the Boston Celtics finally ended it yesterday, 91-85, courtesy of Paul Pierce and Delonte West. The Spurs on the other hand suffered their second straight loss after winning 13 straight games.

The Celtics last beat the Spurs in San Antonio on Feb. 14, 1990. The Spurs had won 18 straight against the Celtics and 15 straight at home.

Rockets win by 50 over Philadelphia... it's their largest margin of victory for a road game. coupled with utah's loss yesterday, only 1.5 games separating the Jazz and the Rockets...
