(off topic a bit) I was always 'drooling' over the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and last week, an office mate of mine brought his (bought from Japan during his business trip there) and I asked to look through his Canon's viewfinder and I took some shots of our office. I was surprised that it wasn't as wide as I thought because I compared the photos mentally with the ones my friends took years ago. I then realized that my friends were using Nikon and it has a crop factor of 1.5 vs. Canon's 1.6. I'm guessing that the crop factor has something to do with it. I was able to also look at another office mate's UWA photos using a Sigma 10-22 and the 10mm shots were a lot wider. I did some research some time ago and remembered that a 1mm difference at the wide end for UWA lenses is a huge jump. Anyway, just sharing my recent experience. So it seems Tokina's offering isn't what I had in mind.

Somebody offered to trade me his Sigma 8-16mm(?) and I liked its wideness, sadly the front element can never be protected cost effectively. So my choices are either go for the Sigma 10-22 or Canon's own 10-22. Need to save up a lot for the latter though.
