some people get away with speaking english whenever and wherever they like because they can pull it off... and when people here this, they don't mind kay angayan man.. and the english is natural... mao guro na ila pasabot.. opposite to this is the trying hard.. ka ng murag mad dugo na ang ilong paminawon..

practice is good... but there's such a thing as practise appropriately..

I quoted the word "appropriate" so it won't be taken literally.

Here it is: Gikan ko Colon nagsakay ko ug 13C nga PUJ. Puno ang PUJ ug naay mga construction workers nga nanakay along with 3 call center agents (I presume because only 2 were wearing IDs). Ang 1 nga construction worker nangutana ug unsa na orasa sa 1 nga agent, "Day unsa nang orasa?", her reply was, "It's 10 past 9". You can see it in the construction worker's face nga wa gyud kaayo niya nakuha ug unsa ang pasabot sa "10 past 9". Pagnaog sa mga agents, nangutana ug balik ang construction worker ug unsa na orasa sa laing pasahero. Sayon ra man unta kaayo litokon ang "alas nuwebe pasado na".

Other people would find it discriminating. I have heard a lot of remarks saying that "hilasa aning mga taga-call center oi". Worse than that, not all people can communicate or least understand simple English. What I'm saying is that don't take the "call center status" out everywhere, sabton nato ang tanan tao. Some people would feel that they're being stepped upon especially those who are not exposed and used to English. We don't want others to feel bad ayt?

it's because of the training and nature of their jobs. sometimes people just tend to forget that's all. it's not about arte or hilas really.

kung ako sad to ang construction worker, di sad ko ma uwaw mo ingon, "di ra ba ko kasabot ug ininggles day."

lets just say u were hanging out at mango ang some street kids are askin for like a peso or maybe like some ramdom guy like a construction worker with his tools and will asked you " mam asa diay na dapita ang e.chavez?'' , and u will say like blah blah blah....

im not sayin like its not proper to answer that guy in English rather than our native tongue its just how would you feel if u were in that position where u have a blank expression on your face,

thrs no biggie about speakin a foreign language, basta maka sabot lang sad ang tao nga imo ka istorya, ug dili ma intimidate

"no matter how gud u speak the language when u look like $h***t u look like it"
