The Japanese government called on their business leaders after the war and they asked their help in rebuilding their nation. The business leaders then agreed to do their part by ensuring quality products that will dominate the global arena. And yes, they were able to accomplish it. Some of those brands are Sony, Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc. They have responded to how the US destroyed them by creating quality products that have invaded the US and global market.

Korea is following the same track- with global giants as Samsung, Kia, Hyundai etc... which is also taking on the world market.

And the Philippines is also taking on the global market- by sending OFWs-- our most saleable export workforce. What a pity.

The world has had the means to eliminate poverty for 40 or 50 years now. The tool used has been foreign aid. The problem with foreign aid is that it is stolen by the corrupt 3rd world politiicans and never reaches the needy. Another issue with foriegn aid is that it is viewed as an entitlement to those who receive it and not as startup capital for a new future.

Countries like Japan, South Korea, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore were able to lift themselves out of poverty with capitalism and free trade. Even China and India today are making great strides in the standard living of their residents with booming economies, prior to the global recession. Note, non-communists residents in western China are revolting because of an uneven distribution of wealth. The Commuist party is attempting to keep the lionshare for itself. It will eventually lead to a new politicial system over time.

So the question now becomes how can the Philippines create more opportunities for capitalism and free trade?

The Philippines has an appropriate political structure, democratic, to provide a framework for a effective goverment. Why doesn't it work?

Performing a root cause analysis on these issues could identify some interesting causes and maybe next steps and hopefully solutions

    Dakota,

Hyperwage Theory has answered your questions. Its bec those structures are not the solution

Hyperwage Theory performed the root cause.

And arrived at the wages of the domestic helpers.

    It's that simple.

    Now, mr. wall street executive,.

why dont you answer your own questions?

Use your much vaunted positions and degrees (of all people here you are the only one pulling rank on us)

    Answer your own questions!

And bring in Mr Tarmac too bec he couldnt see the hyperbole of the author

(how smart the author is, he he he that is a parody mr. tarmac, you are not expected to believe that, that his writing style since the beginning and hyperwage is his 10th book compilation of his writings. remember the 10th.. he has been writing that way for many years. that is a hyperbole a style it seems u are too much for that small style, ur too high up there in your tower.

and notice he says that in each first chapter that he could be the worst intellectual lunatic

as expected you didnt quote that bec u wanted to show ur bias.. cheap trick mr tarmac. make a full quote and a half truth.)

Bring in mr russo too bec he wont read the topic of the debate.

dont forget mr wall street ivy league dakota

Answer your own questions... if you are incapable of answering them, then who is?

Paul Krugman? Tarmac Russo Unsay Ngalan?

No, it's not america, there are people ( some americans that are members on the big money sector ) planning a grand scheme using their money to manipulate the world.

see napaka important na exportation... therefore we must strengthen our local industries and businesses.. locala companies must be innovative to be able to compete with the world market... ngayon kung naka hyperwage agad sa tingin mo magagawa yun ng mga local companies?

in our case daku kaayo ta ug import na less ug export...

anyway meron na tayon San MIguel at JOlibee.. hahahaha...
