This Poleteismo uproar gives me deja vu on Celdran's Damaso protest and how he "offended religious feelings".

the issue here goes beyond Religion, its more about RESPECT. the "artist" should have considered na daghan taw sa Pilipinas, maskin devout Catholic pa or not, ma affected jud ani. Yes, we have different views and opinions about certain issues, here being Religion, and we have the freedom to express those ideas/opinions. but freedom is not absolute. do you think it would be ok if naa sad kay ingon ani na exhibit sa mga muslim countries with Allah as subject instead of Jesus Christ, or sa China with buddha? Religion is a very sensitive topic so the "artist" should have exercised more caution.

And dapat ba jud ingon ani imong mga ipakita para matawag ka na maayong artist? wa man gyud gani koy nakitan anything artistic sa iyang mga display.

Sakto gyud ka.. if iyang love ones butangan ana malipay kaya siya.. na sobrahan ka artist ni kahit na bastos artist lang tawagon para makalusot.

If I were Jesus, I wouldn't find anything disrespectful about it. Most probably I'd laugh about it. If someone would put a p3nis on my photo, I would find it silly at worst, amusing at best. People who have problems with this have very negative views about s3xuality.

if someone would enlarge a photo of your mom, sis, wife, girlfriend, aunt, grandmother and put a p***s on her mouth, how would you feel? would you still find it amusing and silly and just laugh it out?

This is art we are talking about; you can't tell an artist what to do and what not to do. Do you censor an author for writing a book whose themes run contrary to what is popular? Of course you don't, because you are stifling his freedom of speech, which, incidentally, is the cornerstone of a free and democratic republic. It's the benchmark of an enlightened and civilized society, and sadly I think the Philippines falls short.

There will always be people whose opinions differ from yours. You don't go about silencing them, you just live with it.

There is no such thing as ABSOLUTE freedom. this is why you can't walk around naked inside a mall because you feel the need to express your sexuality. I RESPECT an artist's ideas, however different they may be from mine. I just wish this artist also gave a little RESPECT to all Catholics in this country.

if people dont like to watch porn , then they dont have to
if u dont want to listen to dead metal music , then just dont ,,

however when it comes to religion , subra pa jud ka rooted ang mga pinoy
sa religion , and since 90% does , they can always have the power over others .

for the non believers of religion ,always has the freedom to express.
since preacher always have their right to preach hell fire and brimstone to

yes your right about freedom of expression it is only good if your doing it without hurting others but in this case many people is affected since the party involve are those christians.. may unta kung nag practice sya sa iyang freedom of expression without hurting someones feelings..

i'm not speaking just for Catholics, but for all other religion as well. With Freedom of Expression, there should still be a little sense of respect.

if its really about freedom of artisitc expression, he should've used Allah also and held his show sa Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan. Let's see how long he'll survive there. if dili siya makabuhat ani kay mahadlok siya sa mga muslims, then it's really not about freedom of expression then. ganahan ra siya magpa-pansin sa media.

some people just have the wrong sense of what Freedom of Expression is.... how can you see art in something that disrespects other people's faith, be it Catholic, Muslim, Buddhism, etc.?

I am Catholic, but i for certain wont find any art in a statue of Buddha or Allah being trashed. Why? because this is DISRESPECTING other people's faith.
