here are some more bird shots i took from the same place during my latest visit sa construction site sa butuan... i think ang female ni nga klase nga tamsi (i'm not sure though) ang lalaki to ang with black or dark blue color on their neck

clear and sharp na ang subject unlike the last time na mdyo out of focus ug kurog gamay. same ba ang distance or much nearer ka sa subject this time? I like the DOF sa first 2 pics.

@Gilbz - thanks, i increased the shutter speed this time hehehe... the last time medyo hinay ako shutter speeds, the IS of the lens worked kay ang branch nga gipatungan sa bird sharp man... motion blur di gyud mapugngan bisag 3rd generation IS pa imo lens hehehe... approximately the same distance, closer crop lang kay sharp man ang pix

Edwin... what's your setting capturing that birds and what time of the day (it seems dark). Did you set a high ISO ?

I only got a good shot on the pelican (first page) during high noon... but I guess it was a lucky shot.

i think its 1/350 or 1/400 f5.6 @ 400mm IS on, iso 800 with flash set at high speed sync, full power... taken at about 530pm

the birds in flyt... naka AV mode, AI servo, no flash, iso 100 taken mga 11am in a hot sunny day
