basically, actually....
its a filler lage... there's no problem of using it. But, the question is. How, is it used....

some would use this words as an excuse...
its more like a habit to others... (attitude)... and definately distroying your grammar...

if you keep using it.. it will let you sound like you guessing... unsure....

to those call center agent.. as my experience before... it would definately turn off customers... and they are going to take advantage of you and play you around... americans dont use this words very often...
so they know that you from abroad...

hope non-call center would take this as a tip as well....

I get so annoyed when people say 'like' all the time

I just heard so much uuuhm awhile ago... he was like trying so hard to speak english just to look/sound educated because he was a judge.... not to mention the pronunciation
