another feature of a macbook is the "instant on" feature. kinda like hibernate sa windows but faster. i use my macbook pro for 3dmodeling (autocad/sketchup). it takes no less than 3 seconds for it to load from sleep. just open the lid and your ready to go. i rarely shutdown/restart my mb, say once every two weeks after OS updates, and its as fast as it was a year ago. no crashes, defragmenting, reformatting.. nada.. i dont do photographer stuff but i guess instant-on feature is useful when your in the field or during impromptu presentations. its a really reliable machine.

in terms of money, I'll side with the PC. because you'll save more when you assemble your own PC than buy an iMac.

been a pc user for how many years just recently lang nag invest ko ug imac (supposedly for a new body)not to improve my photos but for "a better and stable workflow". Kay kung bati imung photo bati gyud na bisag unsa pana nga mac. A new experience gyud using mac. Nabuntagan gud ko ug kuri kuri, it feels heaven. Hahaha. Very smooth gestures. 4gb ram on imac is smooth while my 8gb pc i need to restart after several task in cs5 together with lr3.
