ANZA are a charity orginazation, they wont be interested in welfare rights for the disabled in Australia, they are helping the disadvantaged here.
thanks for the thought anyway.
lobbying the Austaralian senate through local members and reaching out over the internet is the only way I know to bring the cause to the people.
sorry but i am not labelling the aust govt as racist. They are targeting DSP recipients with families overseas. Most of these are in the Philippines and Thailand. so it affects both countries. If they introduce this new rule it will destroy families (not only Pinoy) and it contravenes the UN charter on the freedom of travel of those with disabilities. (which Australia has ratified).
staying in Australia and sending pension money here wont work.
Australians living there on DSP live in poverty (despite the free medical etc). Its a very expensive country to live in.
This is the issue at hand: those with families abroad will not be able to support them if they are forced to stay in Australia.
also we DO have to go back every 13 weeks now anyway. this ALREADY reduces our pension by a third as the extra money is being spent on airfares.
CENTRELINK (the govt) told me 3 years ago that it was ok to get married and have kids and spend the majority of my time abroad (at 13 week intervals) and that it would not affect my pension.
I'm just trying to save my family and others on DSP from loosing thier families here. Many wont even be able to afford to bring them home.
