so, TS, to answer your question yES, applicants should have a right to know what is going on.
i am glad someone sees this and fit enough to be a perfect question

    i now believe so too.

on second thoughts, i am afraid no HR is brave enough to give an honest sincere answer to a mere ordinary insignificant job applicant.

HRs... they seem to me, are trained to be liars!

True!... There was this situation, wherein I applied to a certain Oil and Gas Company here in Cebu years ago, the qualification was, "At least 3rd year level of Mechanical Engineering". I applied for the vacancy, even I was overqualified because I see it as a stepping stone to enter that nice paying company.

I was being discouraged by the panel interviewee saying that the available position was not fit for me. I insisted it's okay for me. At least if I can enter the organization and there are other future vacancies which will commensurate with my educational and technical background, maybe I can rise along the way... heheh!

It's not the HR or the Company are liars... Some companies consider it as Confidential/Top Secret... As I said, we don't have the right to ask for such information.

feeling nako dili musulti ang HR nganu wala ka mahire kay to prevent from divulging to others what their standards are...kay kung isulti nila tanan nimo naay possibility nga masulti ni nimo sa future applicants nga "mao na ilang ginahan bai dapat ing-ana imong attitude didto or mao ni dapat imo i-emphasize etc. etc."..ang tendency ang uban applicants makapangandam na..so madefeat ang ilang standards...pero agree ko anang dapat i inform ang applicant nga wa cla madawat as early as possible pero sa text or email lang unta ayaw lang ng persoal kay murag sakit jud bwaahahah

naa jud tay right moask kay walay balaud nga nagbawal nato nga mangutana but the question is..do we have the right to demand an answer? murag wala sad kay right sad na sa employer nga musulti ba sila or dili kay kung unsa man gani naa jud na rason nganu dili nila isulti...

Naka try ko ug apply, lain napod nga company years ago...

It was my first job, then nag apply ko a week before I was hired sa sister company ra pod pero mas dako ug sweldo.

I wondered, since mao2x ra ang exams, Why man nga nadawat ko sa pikas, pero sa kato sister company wala, even a call for an interview? I had the guts I walk in to the HR of that sister company and asked her what was the result of my entrance exam, and told them nga mao2x ra sa written exam nga ako na take sa pikas company.

The HR just told me, "Sila raman gud ang magbuot kinsa ilang tawagan... Dili mi makahatag sa imong ge ask nga information kay confidential na..."
