Cebu City Hall can't give the CAIB the "special powers" needed to fight anything "indecent". Power to censor the internet, accessing Cebu City residents' Facebook accounts, accessing the bank accounts of alleged prostitution businesses, etc., all within the limits of the city.

Come to think of it, why did the CAIB fail to stop prostitution on the streets of the city during its active time?

CAIB should just stick to lewd shows and prostitution in the streets! Where are they patrolling? How come I still see streetwalkers in juana osmena, fuente osmena, junquerra? They have not been doing their jobs!!!

    You got the right.

How did CAIB do their jobs before? Burning porn magazines was one of their most visible activities. What else? Raiding vendors for selling FHM and other men's magazines.

SWAC wants CAIB revived so that it could do their dirty work for them and help them knock out their massage and spa competitors in the local market.

From Frank Malilong's column a few years back

The Cebu Anti-Indecency Board (Caib) was just as monumental a failure.

Sun.Star Cebu - Malilong: Mango Square and OBO

Will the CAIB be effective once reactivated or will they just end up as a major waste of taxpayers' money and government resources?

CAIB is just a bunch of hypocrites and even some priests. I know so many priests who are living an "unholy" life. I hate it when people dictate other people what to do based on their own morality. We are all sinners so moralist stop being hyprocrites. Even Jesus does not condemn "sinners" like what these people are doing.

CAIB's not worth the the taxpayers' fund, nor is it worth any of the government's resources and power.

Mayor Rama should think deeply first before reactivating CAIB, and he can start with the agency's history.

mao gyud! those taxes can pay for the cops assigned in mango square.

That is why CAIB was disbanded by the former Mayor last December because it didn't live up to its name in protecting the society against any indecent act or form. Hopefully the new Mayor will put more teeth on whoever will run CAIB and sincere enough to the purpose of its existence.

start by making a list of what is decent and indecent!!!
