To all UABC Club Members:

To those who saw the game of Savers vs Boysen last Sunday, there was an incident that I'm 500% sure it wasn't supposed to happen... Kibaw naman siguro mo nga wala nako natuyo og "toro" si Sol. Kinsa may dili kuyawan pud nga mismo ako nakakita mayng pagka hampak sa ulo ni Sol sa court.

Sa tinuoray lang, wala ko tawagi foul kay na-foul nako daan before nako dasmagi si Sol... A "certain Boysen player" maoy nihatag nako sa hard foul nga iyang duha jud ka kamot ang mihapak sa ako nawng mao niduko ko og wala nako ka preno diha dayuon nga nadasmagan si Sol...

Ako ra ni gi-share ninyo kay ako educated ko sa duwa 19 years na nilabay sa una ko kabalo basketball! Di man unta mahitabo mainit ta sa duwa kung dili ta i-provoke... Prangkahay lang pud ta, dili buot ipasabot nga ing-ani ta kadako mas grabe pud nga pwersa sa foul nga kuwang na lang mo kapyot sa atong li-og.

Ako, I always try nga nindot kog image sa ato liga because proud ko naka 2 tournaments ko in my 1-year tenure as your Club President last year and those 2 tournaments grabe ang ups and downs nato, like what happened sa media, but I always defended UABC.

So I'm hoping sad dili ninyo tagaan negative ako reactions during games kung mainit ko kay di jud sayon ma foul kag kusog.

Since free-for-all man ni nga mag post sa ato gi-bati, I hope makasabot mo og sa kadto "certain player"... BAI, BAG-O RA BAYA TA NAG AMIGOHAY PERO AYAW PAABTA SA POINT NGA MA OUT OF BOUNDS TANAN LIHOK NAKO... PASENSYAHAY LANG TA KUNG MAO GIHAPON IMO LIHOK INIG SECOND ROUND MEETING NATO.

ok ra ni jr decatoria its all part of the game ang away ang roughness inside the basketball court should stay inside the court pag gawas nato kalimtan nato ang maga nahitabaw, pwede mag istorya pero no hard feeling jud... its part of the game if they cant take it then they should be playing the game.... like they said this game seprates the men from the boys....

Durabend keeps lead in Architects' caging

CEBU, Philippines – Durabend-Datu Lapulapu escaped with a 45-42 victory over Savers Home Depot-Cebu/Sugbu to firm up its grip of the overall lead in the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) Season 4 Corporate Cup at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.

4 pm Gyproc/ vs. Savers Home Depot–Cebu/Sugbu
Jay Ramodes cashed in 12 points and five rebounds as Durabend notched its fourth victory against a solitary loss. It was Elmer Laguna though who emerged as player of the game after dishing out eight points, four rebounds, one assist and one block.
After taking an early 11-8 lead, Durabend scored only four in the second quarter, but regained its offensive bearing in the third period to once again dictate the tempo of the match.
Durabend then warded off a last ditch rally by Savers Home Depot to hang on to a three-point win.
Like Ramodes, Rebosura was the lone double-digit scorer with 10 for Savers Home Depot, which fell to 3-2 to forge a three-way tie at second place with Gyproc and Boysen-Rajah Humabon.
Teams Violet and Orange lagged at the cellar with only one win in five starts.
After a long break in observance of the Holy Week, action resumes this Sunday with three games on tap still at the same venue.

Durabend/Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter rules UABC season 4

CEBU, Philippines - The Durabend Pipes-sponsored Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter warded off a courageous endgame fightback by Savers Home Depot to waltz away with a 72-58 victory in the decider of their best-if-three finals series to clinch the championship of the United Architects’ Basketball Club (UABC) Season 4 billed as “Corporate Cup” last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.
It was almost a singular offensive outburst by Elmer Laguna for Durabend as he strafed a game-high 29 points that earned him the coveted Finals MVP award. Hitting 11 field goals and going 7-of-10 from the stripe, the do-it-all forward also hauled down nine rebounds on top of one assist and one block in an admirable show of hardcourt versatility.
The two protagonists actually fought on even terms in the first three quarters resulting into a 41-all deadlock, but Philip Khan “Lik-Lik” Lim charted six straight points in just a one-minute span to push Datu Lapu-Lapu ahead by 12 points.
Savers Home Depot did not give up easily and charged back with savvy to chop the deficit down to a manageable five points.
But that was Savers Home Depot’s last gasp of breath as Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter team director Alan “Big Al” G. Choachuy surprised everyone with his excellent playmaking skills, dishing out three consecutive pin-point assists to Laguna and Chad Concepcion that helped the Durabend-backed squad restore a dozen-point edge.


A natural center at 6-foot-1, Choachuy was forced to play pointguard for Durabend in the closing minutes of the contest as John Sulay and Jay Ramodez already fouled out. He did not disappoint his teammates by delivering the goods when it mattered most. Overall, Choachuy had four rebounds and four assists.

Savers Home Depot tried to stop the clock but their efforts went in vain as Laguna shot 4-of-5 from the foul line to seal Durabend’s triumph.
Lim finished with 13 points and two rebounds, while Ramodes added 10 points and three rebounds as Datu Lapu-Lapu Chapter savored its first title in four-year history of UABC.
The UABC Season 4 was made possible through the support of Boysen Paints, Savers Home Depot, Geproc Plaster Board and Durabend Pipes.
