... People seem to be mistaken, Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne is NOT FREE! DOTA = NOT FREE OKAY?!

People assume its FREE because they play on Internet cafe's with pirated warcraft 3 copies and play online via Garena! Warcraft 3 Battle Chest Set is around $30 one time payment, which is the same price sa Heroes of Newerth when it goes into release/retail.

Icefrog gets money from dota via donations there is no denying that fact, but icefrog doesn't pay blizzard because dota is a CUSTOM MAP. Blizzard doesn't pay icefrog because they never ask icefrog in the first place to make and maintain dota.

There was never an exact source or comment by blizzard that they asked icefrog, its all rumors and speculations, and certain people who spread this rumors can't even give the SOURCE nor links and just say "it was in the secret beta forums for dota.." YEAH RIGHT.. anyone can easily say "I have read that icefrog's gonna make DOTA 10.0 i read it in the secret beta forums" LOL!

Dota wasn't made by icefrog, it was passed to him. By Euls then guinsoo then to him.
Guinsoo now has his own game which is League of Legends.

Dota was inspired by the map from Starcraft called Aeon Of Strife.

if Aeon Of Strife did not exist there wouldn't be dota.

So please, stop being cheap and greedy and say dota is free, because it never is, It's just piracy in our country.

If people just stop piracy, Starcraft 2 wouldn't even need to require you to login to play LAN. Blizzard wouldn't even bother if you actually buy and not pirate.

Sadly the awful truth is people just don't care and still pirate and pirate, they don't seem to understand how much this games cost and maintained. Our country is one of the top piracy countries in the world.

Don't give people excuse that you don't have money to buy the game that's why you pirate?, earn it.. and work for it! Like me and everyone else, get a job!. People then say only "RICH" people can afford legit copies, that's so untrue at all. I know many who aren't rich or have the money like other people and still afford games like World of Warcraft that require monthly payment.

Icefrog is not helping S2(Company developing Heroes of newerth) with the game, he only got asked if its okay to have HON based on dota. Although S2 never needed to ask ICEFROG because dota which is a custom map from Warcraft 3 is by blizzard, which means BLIZZARD still owns Dota, not Icefrog! that is the FACT. Why do you think icefrog doesn't sell the map ? because he can't! he would get sued by blizzard. Before you start the Warcraft 3 Editor you can see the huge EULA documenting everything in there, the TOC as well. Only way icefrog can make money is via donations.. which of course he has already made money but would deny that. Why would he say he made money lol, i wouldn't

You people give icefrog so much credit.. yet you don't even know the history, and assume everything..
Why is dota so famous here? simple.. Lan games which we can easily pirate in internet cafe's, if it wasn't possible to pirate warcraft 3 and wasn't possible to make it work on LAN, there wouldn't even be people playing dota that much at all.

If it wasn't for Aeon Of Strife custom map from Starcraft there wouldn't be dota.
Icefrog didn't make dota! It was a-lot of people helped develop the map way before icefrog even touch warcraft 3.. EULS did then Guinsoo got the role to DEVELOP the map, then he left and gave it to Icefrog. Dota was already famous and well known outside of the Philippine's even before icefrog was handling the map.

Don't worry about getting beta keys, Heroes of Newerth will be available to the public in Q4 2009.
