me too...i mean, i find it hard to speak tagalog than english...in school the only place where i could speak tagalog is during my Filipino class...other than that, it's bisaya or english.

tagalog speaking people offends me sometimes...when they talk as if they are the superior kind...looking down on the "bisaya"...back at campus, if they start to talk tagalog, we don't really respond 'em with tagalog...they are in our place so they should learn the language like we do when we go to their place...

To settle the matter, Â*propose we junk all classroom time wasted on teaching any Pinoy dialect and devote all our public education resources to teaching English and instructing in English.

This makes sense because English is the key to tapping the collective knowledge of humanity (much of which is not expressed in any of our quaint dialects -- Tagalog being one of them).

    This proposal sez it all.

NB: Note that the emphasis of the above article is in junking Tagalog. Just lump in all other Pinoy dialects in there into the junk list and read on!

    Happy reading!

Bro. I read everything on the link you posted! This only validates my contention that the crux of ALL our problems is the hypocrisy of a national language policy!Â* GREAT ARTICLE...MUST READ FOR EVERYONE WHO ARE AGAINST TAGAWG AS A NATIONAL LANGUAGE!!

The former calls upon a misinformed nationalism and the latter carries the pride of ones ancestors and culture. Whatever the choice, it is the non-tagalog that looses. Either he turns his back to his fellow Filipinos or he subordinates the language of his ancestors to the invented national language.

I think there are better options than imposing a regional language (tagalog) as a national language... look at Switzerland, India, Singapore, USA...
AGREE!!! Of all the discussions I've participated, so far this thread has the most intelligent comments!Â* Keep it up!!

    for it to be fair
and for the Filipino language to evolved into something that is a combination of all the major
dialects frm the three big islands of the Philippines...

y don't we all ( all Schools most esp) study not just a Tagalog based Filipino... (if u know wat i mean, it really is, right?0

study as well Binisaya and a major dialect from Mindanao....

this is to give way for the Luzon people to appreciate Binisaya and impose to their minds that learning it and using it is not funny.... it is a means of communication and they also need it when they will go to Cebu... and other Bisayan places....

and as the awareness and appreciation increases then Filipino language will definitely transformed into a mixture of all dialects in the Philippines....
sounds so ideal but who knows...
