soul is a very old concept.. dating back to the greeks.

soul is a quality of life. anything that has life, is equivalent to having a soul. mao ni sulti sa mga greeks sa-una. the term flesh is used for animals. you do not say plants have flesh man tingale.. but they have life, therefore they also have soul.

in mathematics? it is a bit different. soul in mathematics is not described in relation to life.
however, to answer your question, the number 1 is considered to be the soul of everything.

1 - is the number for monad, or the soul aspect, or Man, or Father
2 - is the number for dyad, or a union of two souls, or Woman (the extension of Man), or Mother - because 1 + 1 = 2, so its the extension of Man, its also described as "adventurous" or "daring" number
3 - is the number of reality, the universe
5 - is for marriage, marriage for men, odd numbers are masculine, even are feminine, 3 is odd, 2 is even, so 3 + 2 = 5, which is marriage
6 - is feminine marriage
7 - is number assigned to the virgins
