@nseven welcome to the thread....gywn to moushimasu. yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

Now minna-san we try another lesson ok? (don't really know if this is beneficial as I am not sure what level Japanese you are in ...but here goes anyway...someone could always do with the help i guess)

    LESSON II:
    Verb1 + to ori ni + Verb2
This means to copy exactly in words or actions (V2) what one has heard, seen, read or learnt etc

    e.g
    Please do as I do.
Watashi ga yaru to ori ni, yatte kudasai.

Please write down what I say as it is.
Watashi ga iu to ori ni, kaite kudasai.

Please tell us what you saw as it was.
Mita to ori ni, hanashite kudasai.

Samokan...as usual please check and feedback ok? Doomo...ouki ni ( do you know that "ouki ni" is thank you in Kyoto dialect?)

Uhmm isn't toori ni in Level 3 already?

@abuot san, do you already know all the different verb forms? like masu form, dictionary form, plain form, volitional form, etc? It's basically one of the most crucial things to learn because you can't use just any form together with other words like toori ni, sugimasu, koto ga arimasu, etc.

And also, dba ang verbs are grouped into Group I, Group II and Group III verbs?

salamat kaayo sa inyong mga consideration..
..sa tinuoray lang, wala ko kahibaw anang mga level..
    nakat-on ko through Pimsleur's Japanese level1 ug 2..

ang pirmi gamiton nila is masu form..and sometimes i-butt in nila mga polite form like from sundeimasu to sundeirashaimasu..

kahibaw ko basic sentence construction ug gamay vocabulary..
kamo lang judge unsa dapat nako kat-onan.

=/ As far as I know, the basic Japanese starts at level 4. level 3 is a bit more advanced than 4, level 2 is a LOT advanced, and level 1 is equivalent to being a Nihonjin na, in manners of speaking.

Abuot, so far, do you know na the different verb groupings and the different verb forms?

@Gwyn, on the last lesson posted, karon pa ko kabangga ani hehehe.
Or maybe am using this but don't mau na diay to, ill check my book later so that i can give a better example

about sa okini, yup ive heard that a lot.

to explain. This is called "HOUGEN" or dialect.
tokyo, osaka, kyoto, okinawa and other province in japan have also different dialects "hougen" on their own.

like what gwy said, okini means thank you that is widely use in kyoto, basically its called kyoto-ben.
osaka has also its own set of words that are not understandable for a person from tokyo.

but for now, let us just learn proper japanese

sige padayon ta ha....today we will talk about NAGARA..

Stem of Verb masu form + nagara + Verb2
This sentence pattern means that one person does two different actions (V1 and V2) at the same time. The action denoted by V2 is more emphasized.

    e.g.
I listen to music while eating.
Ongaku o kikinagara shokuji shimasu. (kikimasu - listens ; drop masu and attach nagara)

This sentence pattern is also used when the two actions take place over a period of time.

    e.g.
    I'm working and studying Japanese.
Hatarakinagara nihongo o benkyou shite imasu. (hatarakimasu becomes hatarakinagara)

Abuot-san, below are 3 sentences in japanese and try to translate to English please. (later english na ako ihatag ha and ikaw translate to japanese)

    1. Shashin o misenagara setsumei shimasu.
    2. Nihon de hatarakinagara nihongo o benkyou shite imasu.
    3. Gamu o kaminagara sensei no hanashi o kiite wa ikemasen.

    ganbatte ne..
