The instinct is inherent in most of us. It manifests itself differently in each and everyone. I am first to admit that sometimes the urge or calling is beyond my control. Like crying when Cory died (watta shame), appreciating a tagalog movie, and having voted for Pnoy or Lito Lapid, citing my Spanish lineage when challenged etc....

yes. but depends on what country.

there's no place like home as they say. mingawon gyud ka kung mobalhin kag lugar unya wala kay laing kaila, kamo kamo ra. or maski naa kay kaila pero dili nimo mga paryente lahi ra gyud ang feeling

but i will admit that i came to a point of considering it especially when you look at the situation of our country both on economic, intellectual and values growth

more than 10 years of serving a country and 5 administrations have passed, you'd have to wonder where it all went? sure we've got malls and condos but are these real signs of growth? when you look at some of our neighboring Asian countries, you'd have to wonder why we're still lagging behind generally when we should have been near the top already. and before some apologist start bringing up these irrelevant numbers, I DON'T CARE. what i care is what i see and what i see is that we should have gotten more than what we (as Filipinos in general and not just as selfish individuals) have right now

This poll reflects the inner frustrations of the general public. Our overall morale and self-esteem are systematically crushed in a daily basis, but we remain complacent and passive ("maayo nalang ni kaysa wala" mentality). There's a sense of powerlessness in people's faces that I notice everytime I ride a jeepney to work. Sometimes I eavesdrop on people just to get the idea of what people are talking these days, and the vast majority of it is a conversation about their lack of money. It's always the lack of money.

Is there hope for the hopeless?

NO.. I better stay in Philippines
Lahi ra jud if sa Pinas ka kaysa laing country ka puyo, wala juy mu hoyhoy nimo didto
Plan ra nako mu vistit or tour but not to migrate..

I fully understand why many filipinos want to migrate abroad as reflected in surveys. Pretty much it is based on our culture and the realities of life. If I were in their shoes, I would have probably done the same. I'm just a bit fortunate that my parents made sure that we will have a brighter future, so there's no need for us to risk everything and migrate abroad.

Ang di nko masabtan is there are few out there, who despite their family's wealth, influence, abundance and status in society, still chose to leave all behind. Their kids all studied, worked, married and had family abroad. They never looked back..

nop, i would rather get projects from outside and start business in here!

tempting cya pero i'd rather go for an easy life sa Pinas and go to abroad for vacation.
