When Cebu becomes an independent state, we have so many things to do.
What government type will we adopt? Who will be the leaders? What political process will we use? Who will make laws? What laws to make? Start a new currency, putting up embassies in the World's 164 countries. Establish a military, navy and airforce. Assign foreign representatives. Get recognition from the U.N. Stabilize the economy.
We're simply starting with nothing. It took 10 years for the Philippines to transition from a Commonwealth State to an Independent Republic and the war delayed it further. Now how much more Cebu?
its time for a federal system of Govt.
thinking about the location of CEBU CITY in the PHILIPPINES, we are the site of BIG BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS and FOREIGN INVESTORS man kay we are at the center-most area of the country and usahay ra agian ug baguio. Which means, CEBU is the ...most convenient place to land EVERY SUPPLYING DEPARTMENT sa big companies diri sa philippines (imagine APO Cement, i.locate nato sa Manila, mag.deliver ug supplies sa Davao, layu kaayu right? ^_^). Nya the more the bus.comp and investors, the more taxes ang i.bayad sa city. which, in the end, makes it a reason for the capital to HOLD CEBU as a part of the Philippines, Avoid Federalism and OUST GMA.![]()
Why will I wait for another 40 years for Cebu to stabilize and another decade or century to surpass the Philippines when it can prosper greatly while being part of PHL? Singapore is another story, I don't want Cebu to have the same cost of living like SG, it's too expensive. And SG only depends on international trade for it's commodities unlike PHL which produces on it's own for it's own.
Im just saying that it isnt impossible to be independent and still survive. I wasnt pushing the idea of being separated from the philippines. Im more of federalism. We wont really prosper in a type of government in which only 10 percent of the tax we remit in manila comes back to us, so we need to be more autonomous especially in funds. And for the record, our economy is mainly based on trading since we only have barren landscapes and our strategic location in the country. And I think most in most progressive countries the cost of living is high, Ive been to a number of first world countries and I haven't gone to one in which the cost of living is just the same here in cebu. Although it is compensated since they have free healthcare services, free bus ride for children, etc. They have lot of stuffs that people enjoy through their taxes.![]()
